    That SIM800 was a right nightmare; I tried using it in a device twice, and each time, when running 24 hours a day, it would break down within 2–3 months.
    The problem was that after those 2–3 months, the chip would only respond to signals from China and wouldn’t log onto the network.
    I swapped it for a Siemens one, and the device worked faultlessly for years.
    It seems that the more expensive Siemens turned out to be much cheaper in the long run, at least from my point of view.
