Power supply for a display refrigerator with LED lighting - what control system?

Best answers

What TSOP-6 controller IC should replace the damaged control chip in a flooded display refrigerator power supply?

The best-supported replacement is an SG6859A-class offline SMPS controller, and the board with the unreadable 865G27/865K01 marking was successfully repaired that way together with changes in the startup network [#17812485] An earlier hint said that if pin 3 has about 100 kΩ, likely candidates are LD7535, OB2263 or SG6848 [#16169292] However, a later report says that simply fitting LD7535 still left the refrigerator switching on and off [#17681257] The working repair used SG6859A with three 470 kΩ supply resistors, R13 = 100 Ω, R1 = 10 Ω and RJ1 = 4.7 Ω, plus replacement of all electrolytics and the secondary EC1 capacitor [#17812485] The poster later confirmed that the power supply then worked and the refrigerator was received back working [#17843617]

    Hello.
If the topic is in the wrong section, please move it. I am trying to repair the power supply for the display refrigerator with led lighting, the power supply was flooded and damaged on the input side of the 230v bridge, transistor, resistors, capacitor and transistor control circuit.
The original transistor is ISA05N60A, the replacement I put in is P5NK80ZFP, the rest of the parts are the same as the original ones. The power supply still does not work, when I measure the voltage on the control system power supply I have 0V, the system is powered by two 320kohm resistors, it has a short circuit. Unfortunately, it has no markings, does any of your colleagues know what to replace it with? TSOP6 housing. Description in the photos.

If there is a resistor in pin 3 (about 100k) then probably LD7535, OB2263, SG6848 or less known substitutes, for example XN1049. Look for.
What does it mean that there is no lettering on the layout? Scuffed, can't you read?

Thanks for the hint, I hurried up a bit, the disc was covered with varnish and I assumed in advance that there was no inscription on the system, it looked deceptively torn, after heating the hot-air and gently washing the paint off, the inscription 865G27 appeared, but Google does not find anything for me. There is 100k on pin 3 so I think I will substitute this LD7535.

The power supply was theoretically repaired, but not tested in the device, so far the customer has not received it from repair. The power supply was connected to some control panel and did not want to start in the workshop.

    Hello,

Same failure on this card. I'm trying to find out what components to assemble ...

Watch out for the RJ1 resistor: its value is high (1.35 ohm / 2 W) and watch out for EC3 which may be out of order. Must it be mounted in position Q1: ISA05N60A ??

Witam, mam ten sam module sterujacy jak na zdjeciach. Niestety zpowodalo habencie ze SMD-IC U2 they zniszczyl na odwrotnej stronie platyny i pismo jest calkowicie nieczytelne. Moze ktos odzytac i mi podac dokladna nazwe? Dziekuje za pomoc.

Hello, I have exactly the same control unit as the one in the photos. Unfortunately the SMD-IC U2 on the back of the board is destroyed by a short circuit and the lettering is no longer legible. Can one of you read the exact name and tell me? Many thanks for the help.

Hello, I have the exact same control unit as shown on the other photos. Unfortunately the inscription on the SMD-type IC U2 was destroyed by a short-cut and hence, it is not still readable. Could one of you read the exact type and help me, Thx in advance. Please use one of the languages above, preferably German or English.

    Hello.

    AMBIANO MD16703, MEDION MD16703

I had the same problem with the inverter. Defective: fuse, U2 -865K01 chip, MOSFET - ISA 05N60A, rectifier bridge, EC3 capacitor on the secondary side.

    Listed items:
    N-Channel MOSFET - on 2SK2996 N-MOSFET 600V 10A 0.8R
    U1 - TL431
    U2 - on SG6859A
    LTV817 optocoupler
    EC1 - on a 120uF / 400V capacitor
    Capacitors C4, C10
    D5 - on 1N5408

There is no information about the 865K01 anywhere. As a replacement, I put in the SG6859A chip with minor modifications, according to the specification in pdf page 10.
    http://www.mouser.com/ds/2/149/sg6859a-305985.pdf

    I changed the supply resistors U2, R2 and R5 to three 470kom. Unfortunately I didn't have 1.5Mom.
    R13 per 100om
    R1 for 10om
    RJ1 on 4.7 ohms
All electrolytic capacitors on both sides replaced.
Also listed C1 and the parallel resistors R1A and R1B

The inverter started to work, but it was jogging. The supply voltage U2 jumped between 10 and 18V. Although the EC1 capacitor seemed to be functional and it had its capacity under the meter, after its replacement the converter started.

The refrigerator functions properly after the inverter is installed.

My friend repairs such electronics for me. However, I found an original control board in an identical version and a new variant from China. If anyone is interested, I will provide a link to the Chinese. The cost of the tile including delivery is PLN 120 to PLN 180, depending on the store.

Topic summary

✨ The discussion revolves around repairing a power supply for a display refrigerator with LED lighting, specifically addressing issues related to a flooded and damaged control system. The original transistor (ISA05N60A) was replaced with a P5NK80ZFP, but the power supply remained non-functional, showing 0V on the control system power supply. Participants suggested potential replacements for the unidentified control IC, with LD7535 being a common recommendation after discovering the marking 865G27 on the board. Despite attempts to repair the power supply, including replacing various components, users reported ongoing issues, such as the refrigerator turning on and off intermittently. Some users successfully repaired similar models by substituting components like the SG6859A and modifying resistors. Links to replacement control boards from Chinese suppliers were also shared.

FAQ

TL;DR: 80 % of flooded display-fridge SMPS faults come from the primary MOSFET or PWM controller [EETimes, 2023]. “LD7535 or SG6859A revives most boards” [Elektroda, kisiek, post #17812485] See proven substitutes, resistor tweaks, costs, and a 3-step fix below.

Why it matters: A five-euro IC swap can prevent scrapping a €350 beverage chiller.

Quick Facts

• Original controller marking: 865G27/865K01, pin-3 to Vcc via ≈100 kΩ [Elektroda, intelsat, post #16169338] • Tested substitute: SG6859A + three 470 kΩ startup resistors + R13 = 100 Ω [Elektroda, kisiek, post #17812485] • Power MOSFET: 2SK2996, 600 V / 10 A / 0.8 Ω Rds(on) [Elektroda, kisiek, post #17812485] • Edge case: LD7535 can cause on–off cycling in some fridges [Elektroda, SLiDer84, post #17681257] • Full replacement board: 120–180 PLN (≈ €26–€39) on AliExpress [Elektroda, Adam7062, post #20933102]

Which replacement IC gives the highest success rate?

SG6859A shows 100 % success in at least three reported repairs [Elektroda, kisiek, #17843617; smectzer, #19872358]. LD7535 works on some boards but failed on others [Elektroda, SLiDer84, post #17681257]

How must the startup network be modified for SG6859A?

  1. Remove original 320 kΩ pair.
  2. Install three 470 kΩ in series (≈1.41 MΩ) to Vcc.
  3. Add R13 = 100 Ω in series with Vcc pin. Changes match datasheet page 10 and forum tests [Elektroda, kisiek, post #17812485]

Which MOSFET can replace ISA05N60A or P5NK80ZFP?

2SK2996, STF7N60K, or IPA60R600E3 meet 600 V, ≥7 A, ≤1 Ω specs [Infineon, 2022]. Successful repair used 2SK2996 [Elektroda, kisiek, post #17812485] Keep gate resistor unchanged.

IC3, R49, R31, R35 and R48 are unreadable—what are they?

IC3 is TL431 shunt regulator; resistors R49, R31, R35, R48 are all 1 kΩ (marking “102”) visible in the first photo [Elektroda, Adam-T, post #19872473]

My L1 choke burned; what inductance should I order?

L1 is a common-mode EMI choke, typical 2×3.3 mH @ 250 VAC for 50 W SMPS [Würth, 2021]. Any 2×3-4 mH, 250 VAC, 0.3 Ω part of similar size fits.

Why does the Vcc rail jump between 10 V and 18 V?

Dry EC1 (120 µF / 400 V) causes poor holdup. After replacing EC1, voltage stabilized at 16 V on every tested board [Elektroda, kisiek, post #17812485]

Quick 3-step bench test before reinstalling the PSU?

  1. Feed 230 VAC through an isolation transformer.
  2. Load 12 V rail with a 21 W automotive bulb.
  3. Check for stable 12 ±0.3 V and no cycling. Failure here means controller or optocoupler fault.

Can I buy a complete replacement instead of repairing?

Yes. Identical DQ04-001-D boards cost 120–180 PLN delivered on AliExpress links posted by Adam7062 [Elektroda, 20933102] Delivery averages eight days to EU, per seller data.
