The subject of the topic is the BLU-RAY player, model XV-BD212 from the PIONEER manufacturer. The problem that occurs with the device is that it freezes while booting on the PLEASE WAIT message. The reason why it happened is also unknown. Looking from the operator's side, it is known that the player can be easily turned on / off; we can freely adjust the VOL value shown on the display despite the lack of sound on the loudspeaker output and the correctly changing linear fan speed; moreover, no reaction to other function buttons; no disc reading; no image on HDMI.
Looking at it from the service side, I can confirm the correct operation of the power supply, where all voltages are within the norms and no reaction after subjecting it to thermal change; no mechanical or visual damage to electronic components; no drive response and no laser focal changes, it doesn't even shine; all quarks generate correct waveforms, including X500 which was preventively replaced; Correct voltages on the motherboard pay special attention to: IC506, IC502, IC503 and IC500. Another thing was to replace the IC506 charge and I turn to you, where to look ...
The websites you have at the link will be helpful:

and a visual comparison of what is happening with the equipment, the difference is that I have no message: LDR,,, LDR NG ..... just waiting for eternity ...

    Any suggestion appreciated :P

Hello, I was just repairing such equipment. The solution to the topic is reballing the BGA IC500 processor.

    best regards

Heyka ... it's great that it worked, but the question arises, what made you to reballing? The thought arises: What is the temperature during operation on the processor ... Because if the CPU is significantly overheating and the balls are damaged, the manufacturer gave a stain ... no heat sink on the system ... I met in the above-mentioned case in a few other posts, i.e. the symptom occurs in these models in series ... I personally did not manage to reach the software, but if we actually had it despite being sure that it is correct, and it would not be possible to upload, we would have a certain answer that the problem is in the cpu or memory .. . I warmed up the processor chip, but it did not change the state as well as the replacement of small elements in its area ... I still have it before and it is so dusty that I will only pull it out when someone makes the batch available ... then I will not let it go so as not to resuscitate it ... . best regards

    Thank you very much.

Topic summary

The Pioneer XV-BD212 Blu-ray player is experiencing a booting issue, freezing on the "PLEASE WAIT" message. Users report that while the device can be powered on and off, it shows no sound output, no disc reading, and no image on HDMI. Service checks indicate that the power supply is functioning correctly, with all voltages normal and no visible damage to components. A suggested solution involves reballing the BGA IC500 processor, as overheating may cause the issue. Other users have noted similar problems with different models, such as the Pioneer XV-BD717, which displays an "ldr ng" error before shutting down.
