VPS Server: Raspberry Pi 2B vs. Aruba Cloud 4 PLN/month with Debian - Cost & Performance Comparison

Sorry for the new account, but I can't recover the password to the old one because I lost my email password due to accidental deletion of the key and master database keepass file and also deleted the old email earlier. You can restore me to this rank of "Apprentice" although I don't know what it is for. I hope I put this thread in the right section.

Tell me what will be a better solution - VPS 4 PLN / month server on Aruba Cloud with default Debian installed in the package or VPS placed on Raspberry Pi 2B? It seems to me that when I host at home on a Raspberry, the only thing I pay for is the electricity that uses the Raspberry Pi and the transfer is unlimited. The link is also quite fast. Sometimes it reaches 4 Mb / s when downloading from some fast servers or torrents and in Firefox it reaches an average of 2.5 Mb / s.

The problem is most of it is ADSL so the speeds to and from are different. The upload speed is typically 5-10% of the download speed.

I need the server mainly to:
- set up a blog based on Wordpress,
- MySQL and PostgreSQL databases for web applications,
- nginx with php5-fpm module installed to be able to host a blog,
- as my second favorite programming language, next to Java, is Python, it is possible to put web applications written in Django on nginx server,
- as I am a Javelin, I would like to be able to access Glassfish and put on it amateur items that will be for the show for now,
- I would also like to be able to set up my own mail server because, as you know, admin(_at_)hubot.pl sounds more professional than hubot(_at_)mail.com,
- and of course ZNC as I am a regular on IRC.
Everything is supposed to be on Debian as I'm used to Debian fans (so far I've been working on Ubuntu, Linux Mint, Kali Linux and LMDE).

I have from 23 to 75 users per day on my blog and I have views from 42 to 431 according to Wordpress statistics during the time period from January 21, 2017 to February 10, 2017.

Better for what? Since you ask such a question, you will almost certainly not charge even half of any of them, so take which one is more convenient or cheaper for you.

Better for privacy, security, and speed. I mainly need for what I mentioned above.

I didn't have to guess - this is the main problem (apart from fixed IP of course) with hosts on the "home" internet. Because if you buy an IP it is not attractive anymore, especially when you charge yourself with some unlimited shell hosting

When you have a moment and want to, you can transfer it to RPI Java, Pythony and MySQL / PostgreSQL relatively painlessly. You can move around piece by piece and see if and when the RPI can't handle any more.

I do not know. For now, I have purchased a VPS for Aruba Cloud for PLN 4 / month and I asked about this option with the Raspberry Pi, because I was wondering if it would be more profitable and whether it would be more efficient. I can possibly set up a mirror server and check how it will work. I can even set up dns from hubot.pl to the ip of the Raspberry Pi server.

I have no guarantee as to the permanence of the IP. Also a problem is that there can be frequent power failures. I am tempted by the option with Raspberry due to the fact of greater privacy and greater security and easy possibility to change the operating system whenever I feel like it, because for example, I got bored with Debian and I am an Arch enthusiast (I think many people have passed this stage). On the Raspberry Pi, I can have a VPN or proxy set up, and not really on a server with a supplier.

Ok, also so the Raspberry Pi will serve me as a mirror server of what I have on the server I bought. I am a Linux enthusiast, so far I experiment a lot with Debian and Debian derivatives, but you never know if my preferences will change over time.
