I have a problem with a great car like VW Golf 5. It has stopped working, it turns and does not smoke. Computer shows error P0726 (engine speed input circuit - RPM upper limit exceeded). I don't know what that means exactly and I can't find it anywhere on the net.
    In one topic (https://www.elektroda.pl/rtvforum/topic2589564.html),
I read that it helps to replace a driver, but I have no idea which one?
The car does not start, but when it succeeds, it goes out after a while.
If there is someone who can suggest what to do, I would be grateful.
Sorry if the topic keeps repeating, I'm new to the forum, but I really haven't found anything to help me.

It looks like a damaged engine speed sensor on the crankshaft or the harness from the controller to the sensor.

and I forgot yet. When it starts, it does not react to the gas and goes out when you try to put the gear into gear. Does it have anything to do?

Give the car to the garage, lack of knowledge and tools, you can't do it, really.
