    Hello,

My problem: I removed the recovery partition, I did not do recovery discs. I installed Windows 7 Pro SP1 64bit (the one I had at the factory on the Lenovo e420s) from pure ISO with Microsoft.

I kept the key to the windows from the system still running (two for certainty, the same key also thinks that the correct one, unfortunately, unfortunately is not readable).

When installing Windows, I entered this key, it worked, the system installed itself, but the activation did not work. When activated, an invalid key message appears for activation. There is no possibility of telephone activation (this option does not appear). I tried to enter the key again. I attach screenshots.

    greetings

The key to the oem version for Lenovo will not work with the version from the MS website.

That means that when I delete the recovery partition, I no longer have the option to activate the system?

    Unfortunately, rather yes.
The key you have recovered is probably a universal key that you can search in googles after entering the first group of characters.
If you do not already have the recovery partition, maybe you have some other copy of the system? You would need a "tokens.dat" file with information on system activation and a certificate file from Lenovo that can be found on the internet. With their help, and having the same version of the system as before, you can do activation.

Oh, there are two more things: On the Lenovo website you can download the recovery media at once. Unfortunately, I do not know if for all models, or only for newer ones that are delivered without carriers. You can search for your laptop by the serial number and look for the option on their website.
Second thing: The key can be stitched in the BIOS, but with windows 7 it is unlikely though possible. They will help with the "SLIC Toolkit" program, look for other ones as well.

    SLIC Toolkit V3.2
Advanced tab, bottom Pkey & ... Backup button and save both files. One is the key (ProductID) and the other is the certificate file.

You create a BAT file or run commands:

slmgr.vbs -ilc "certyfikat - nazwa drugiego pliku z powyższej kopii"

    slmgr.vbs -ipk twój_klucz

You're firing with administrator privileges - sometimes you have to restart and restart.

    Hello,

The method is generally valid but the product key read will not match. It should be read from the original installation of the manufacturer. However, the certificate file will be ok. Lenovo and other manufacturers use the same key for a given version of Windows for all models and it is not the key of the label (COA) on the computer. I can give this key from my Lenovo if it does not violate the rules of the forum. Information about SLP keys is also available without problems on the net.

    greetings

I have read that the subject's author has the key from the original installation read, with this key everything should be ok.

Topic summary

The user encountered activation issues with Windows 7 Pro SP1 64-bit after removing the recovery partition and reinstalling from a Microsoft ISO. The original OEM key from a Lenovo e420s was not accepted, leading to an invalid key error during activation. Responses indicated that the OEM key is incompatible with the Microsoft version, and suggested alternatives such as obtaining a "tokens.dat" file and a certificate file from Lenovo for activation. The SLIC Toolkit was recommended to extract the necessary key and certificate. Ultimately, the user successfully activated the system using the SLIC method.
