I watch tv lying in bed, so I fall asleep, whether these two televisions are worth my attention if there is any alternative for them. Thanks in advance for your help

4k Man will not feel because the human eye can not see it while full hd I think it will be a good solution.

Any examples of models? Does lg still do Full hd? I mean, that 49UJ635V is a TV from 2017, so rather new and possibly faster because now different standards?

Recently I was also looking for a TV in the bedroom, I did not want to overpay, so I looked around in LG models. Besides, all LG, Phillips, and Samsung are one dog. LG has a really nice picture and unsaturated colors. I naively thought that since LG is the main producer of dies in the world, he will be using his own, I read somewhere that he puts Chinese or Taiwanese dies into lower models. However, in my subjective opinion LG has a nicer picture than its nearest competitors.

Here, there are a lot of LG models for 2017, divided into series: http://www.benchmark.pl/testy_i_recenzje/telewizory-lg-na-rok-2017-opis-i-analiza.html The author in the summary recommends / types this: 49-inch Full HD LCD LJ610 series (49LJ610).

I chose TV and rejected two things: pseudo-4K by LG, or RGBW and size 49 inches. The point is that in the evening it would not be a glow. But in your case, if it's supposed to be 6h / day then take 49. I think FHD will be more smooth, I only have DVB-T so I do not need 4K Finally, 4K in TV below 55 "from a distance of 3 m is pointless.

I would choose 43LJ624V if it were not for this stand, which I do not like. I chose 43LJ594V for 1650 PLN (a lot of bulbs saved), but it came with a broken matrix (spider), so the courier takes it back. In the second approach, I will probably choose 43LJ614V. Apparently in series 6. the browser works more smoothly ...

Thanks for the answer. Will the USB mouse work with lj610 models and would it be a good solution to buy some LH from 2016, eg LH63 ... instead of LJ 61 ...

On the LG page for 43LH630V or 43LH615V, they say that it works: Connecting the keyboard, mouse - Yes

Is it a good idea? If the price is good, I think that there is nothing to think about. In those new for 2017, it seems to me that there is only a new shack, specifics of specifications although I was looking for not found accurate and reliable, so it is not known what changed in the middle.

With us it was so that we bought 43LH541V for good money for my grandmother and nothing to cling to. TV as a TV - works, correct colors, no frills, but above all, A ++ energy class (35 W), which will be important for an older person. We liked this TV so much (we stayed with us for 2 weeks) that next week we will buy a similar model only with Smart.

I bought this lg uj701v, drama. Either I have a nice model or this IPS direct is a failure. When the room is dark and a dark background enters, at the bottom and side of the frame the screen shines as if there were white LEDs in this place. It illuminates black to gray.
In addition, pops up message that the application has been closed to release the memory, on another TV from last year probably uh6507 is already available web version in version 5.xx and on my from this year 4.xx

And you had to listen ...

Unfortunately, this is the IPS. It's lit because that's how the backlight works in IPS. Low contrast gives gray instead of black.
Although in your copy, you can really see it.
You can try to deceive the eye and put a lamp behind the tv. This will improve a bit of black situations (this trick uses Philips in IPS with ambilight)
And it's best to return this tv and buy another one on the high-contrast VA matrix.

@ganjaq I am sorry, especially if my entry encouraged you to buy this LG ...: - /

We were lucky in misfortune that the TV came to us damaged and sent it back. Then I saw a comparative test on the page benchmark.pl , where LG has been literally massacred, both in the test and comments.

I am now looking for some Hauler from last year, with the VA matrix (EC models for this year are unfortunately already from IPS), eg:
    Sony KDL-48WD655
    or
    Sony KDL-40WD655

And so I would take LG because despite this matrix webOS sweeps, I do not have a decoder at all and yet the media delivered via YouTube or netflix iptv and browsers meet my needs in 110%, handling all this is like riding a bicycle. Despite the minuses, LG really has many pluses,

Topic summary

✨ The discussion revolves around selecting an LG TV for a 20m2 room with a 3m viewing distance, focusing on whether to choose Full HD or 4K resolution. Users express that Full HD may be sufficient given the viewing distance and room size, while others mention the importance of WebOS for internet browsing and gaming. Various LG models are suggested, including the 49LJ610 and 43LH630V, with considerations for features like USB mouse compatibility and energy efficiency. Concerns about the performance of IPS panels, particularly in low-light conditions, are raised, with recommendations to consider VA matrix models for better contrast. Overall, the consensus leans towards LG for its user-friendly interface and satisfactory picture quality, despite some negative experiences with specific models.

FAQ

TL;DR: For a 3 m viewing distance, LG’s UJ series uses 60 Hz IPS panels; “IPS 60Hz … with RGBW” affects dark-room contrast. [Elektroda, Ludwik XVI, post #16782752]

Why it matters:** This FAQ helps bedroom buyers pick the right LG size, panel, and WebOS setup for movies and gaming.

Quick-Facts:

Quick Facts

Is 4K worth it from 3 meters on a 43–49 inch LG?

One buyer concluded 4K under 55 inches at 3 m is pointless for TV use. Full HD looked smoother for broadcast sources. If you watch mostly YouTube, IPTV, and streaming, resolution gains at that distance may be subtle. Prioritize panel type and contrast first. [Elektroda, Scottie33, post #16780250]

Does the LG 49UJ701V have a 100 Hz panel?

A forum expert called the UJ701V an inexpensive IPS 60 Hz panel with RGBW. Stores often market motion numbers, not native refresh. For gaming and sports, expect 60 Hz behavior, not true 100/120 Hz. “IPS 60Hz … with RGBW” summarizes it. [Elektroda, Ludwik XVI, post #16782752]

Why did my LG IPS screen look gray in a dark room?

That effect is IPS glow and low native contrast. The user saw bright patches near edges and gray blacks in darkness. Edge lighting and IPS characteristics cause this. A VA panel improves black depth in dim rooms. “Low contrast gives gray instead of black.” [Elektroda, Ludwik XVI, post #16826122]

How can I reduce IPS glow on my LG at night?

Use bias lighting and lower backlight. A lamp behind the TV can trick your eyes and deepen perceived blacks. If glow remains distracting, consider returning it for a VA-panel model. This swap is the most effective fix for dark-room use. [Elektroda, Ludwik XVI, post #16826122]

Will a USB mouse or keyboard work with LG LH/LJ TVs?

Yes. Owners report successful USB keyboard and mouse use on LH630V/LH615V and similar LJ models. This helps with WebOS browsing and app navigation. Plug-and-play behavior reduces the need for a remote-only workflow. It’s a practical upgrade for frequent web use. [Elektroda, Scottie33, post #16782437]

Is WebOS actually better for everyday streaming?

Several users preferred WebOS for YouTube, Netflix, IPTV, and browsing, praising its ease. One said it “sweeps,” meeting needs 110%. If you rely on apps over broadcast, WebOS usability can outweigh panel downsides. Cursor-based control also helps in the browser. [Elektroda, ganjaq, post #16828663]

I saw WebOS closing apps with a memory message—normal?

One owner reported a message that apps closed to free memory. It indicates resource limits were hit. Keep fewer apps active, or power-cycle to clear memory. Heavy browsing plus streaming may trigger it on certain 2017 sets. This is a known edge case. [Elektroda, ganjaq, post #16825950]

Full HD or 4K for my budget LG?

A user shortlisted 2017 Full HD LJ models and avoided pseudo‑4K RGBW sets. They favored 43–49 inch FHD for smoother look with DVB‑T and typical streaming. Another recommended the 49LJ610 series within this approach. [Elektroda, Scottie33, post #16780250]

What size is best for a 20 m² room and 3 m distance—43 or 49 inches?

The thread leans 49 inches if you watch about six hours daily. From 3 m, 49 inches increases immersion without stressing resolution. If you’re sensitive to glow in the dark, consider VA panels at that size. [Elektroda, Scottie33, post #16780250]

Are LG’s RGBW 4K models a bad idea?

One expert warned against RGBW IPS models for contrast and clarity, calling it “7 woes.” Another buyer returned a UJ due to glow and gray blacks at night. If dark-room movies matter, avoid RGBW IPS and pick VA. [Elektroda, Ludwik XVI, post #16782752]

Do LG still offer Full HD models like LJ610/LJ614?

Yes, users evaluated 49LJ610 and 43LJ614 as 2017 Full HD options. They also considered 43LJ594V and 43LJ624V on price and stands. This path avoids RGBW concerns on budget 4K. [Elektroda, Scottie33, post #16780250]

What budget should I plan for—title says 2500 PLN, OP says 3000 PLN?

The original buyer set a maximum of 3000 PLN. Another user bought a 43LJ594V for 1650 PLN before returning a damaged unit. Expect solid FHD picks between 1650–3000 PLN in that lineup. [Elektroda, ganjaq, post #16779533]

Will sideways viewing be OK for family seating?

IPS panels keep color at angles but struggle with contrast in the dark. VA panels offer better blacks but narrower off‑axis performance. Choose based on your seating and night viewing priority. [Elektroda, Ludwik XVI, post #16826122]

Any quick steps to tame bright edges on an IPS LG at night?

Try this 3‑step fix:
  1. Place a dim bias light behind the TV.
  2. Reduce backlight and set a warmer color temperature.
  3. Avoid pitch‑black rooms; keep gentle ambient light on. These settings ease perceived glow. [Elektroda, Ludwik XVI, post #16826122]

Is the LG browser and pointer control really better?

Users prioritized LG for its browser and cursor control, citing easier navigation. This directly addressed their annoyance with browsing on TVs. If you browse often, LG’s input model can save time. [Elektroda, ganjaq, post #16779533]

What’s the expert take if I mainly watch at night?

Pick a VA panel if deep blacks matter. An expert noted IPS backlight behavior lifts blacks to gray. Bias lighting helps, but panel choice dominates. “Low contrast gives gray instead of black.” [Elektroda, Ludwik XVI, post #16826122]
