    Hello Forumowiczów,

I looked at various similar topics here in the forum and talked to sellers in several TV stores and I have a certain problem when it comes to choice. I want to buy a TV for games and watching movies mainly in the evenings and at night, size up to 50 inches - larger may not fit on the table anymore. Below are answers to key questions about my situation:

    1. How big is the room where the TV should be? about 20m2
    2. How far are we from the TV screen? 2m
    3. How many people sit in front of the TV? 1-2
    4. Are we sitting in front of the screen or sideways to the screen - are the angles important? Just straight ahead
    5. Is the TV supposed to stand or hang? Be
    6. How does the sun shine in the room? On the side of the room
    7. What is your TV currently? LG 42LD420 from 2011
    8. What do we want the TV to have? VA matrix, RGB, low input lag
    9. What signal will be connected to the TV: (4K, HD, SD)? 4K
    10. What devices will be connected to the TV? PS4 console
    11. How many hours a day will the TV work? 3-4
    12. Are you going to use the internet on your TV screen? Netflix / YouTube
    13. Do you intend to play PC games / console - if so, how much% per day? 50% console
    14. Do you watch more in the evenings or during the day? evenings
    15. Size preferences? 49-50
    16. What annoys you on TVs? Poor image quality
    17. Brand preferences? Samsung, Panasonic
    18. Up to what maximum amount are you planning to buy? ~ 3,000 PLN

Initially, I was thinking about the Samsung UE49MU6272, but in several stores they suggested that by paying a few more I can already have Panasonic 50EX700e, which will be better suited and have better image quality, but will be slightly less SMART than Samsung. I got acquainted with the results of the Panasonic test prepared by one of the websites dealing with TV and the disadvantages indicated to me seemed a bit disturbing, namely:
    - low image brightness in HDR mode,
    - too dark a brightness characteristic in HDR mode,
    - low dynamic resolution of moving images.
Is this a strongly felt problem when playing on the console or watching netflix / movies?

And is Panasonic really a more reasonable solution at this price than Samsung? Or maybe some other models would be worth recommending / considering?

In these mentioned points Samsung MU62 will be even weaker.
Unfortunately, this is currently the situation on TV sets in your budget.
Image quality in EX700 is better than in MU62, while these are TVs with a 60 Hz matrix and you won't see good HDR effect on them.
If you want a 120Hz TV and with better HDR then only 50 Panasonic EX780 is basically 50 inches. This is already a very good representative of mid-range TV.
If you decided on 55 inches then the best price / quality ratio is in turn the Samsung MU7002.

    Thanks for the answer.

For now, I am leaning towards the Panasonic 50EX700E, as suggested. Nevertheless, I am still thinking about the models you mentioned ... although they significantly go beyond my original budget, which I assumed, which I have already overdid, increasing it to ~ PLN 3,000.

As for technical issues, when it comes to differences in image quality and other TV parameters, I am rather a layman (until now I had LG 42LD420 from 2011, which at that time cost less than PLN 1,500, so quality TV does not go crazy), hence my another question - does the difference in image quality between the Panasonic 50EX700E and the two mentioned justify adding another PLN 1,000 - 1,500? The difference is noticeable enough? Is it rather a matter of the "trained eye" of those who know their stuff?

The difference is mainly in casting the movement (60 vs 120Hz)
Is it worth paying extra? It depends how much you like the image in EX700 ....

And a little beyond my assumed price shelf ... is the Samsung UE49KS9000 model a sensible alternative to these more expensive proposals, i.e. Panasonic 50EX780 and Samsung 55MU7002? I note that the curved screen does not really matter to me - I always watch / play sitting in front of the TV.

I made a preliminary fitting for Samsung under 55 "today, but I'm afraid I won't fit in. And even if it comes, I don't know if watching such a big screen from a distance of 2 m is a good solution. That's why I would prefer 49-50" models ... hence my question about UE49KS9000, if I decided to jump on the price shelf ~ PLN 4000.

And also about the opinions about Samsung, which I found on various portals - they are in fact poorly made, that the housing after some time opens / splits? Is this an exaggerated problem?

This is a very good model for 2016. It can easily compete with the other two. Technically it is even better than Mu7002.

A bit exaggerated. Although there was the KS7000 batch at the beginning of 2016 with poorly fitted housings. Without srob - all on latches.
