Hello. This is my first post, so forgive me if something goes wrong ...
I am struggling with the following problem. I need the ability to run my computer remotely using a mobile phone from anywhere. (manual). The computer has a motherboard that does not support Wake On Lan (replacing the board is not an option), has a fixed IP address and is connected to the Internet. I noticed that after turning off the computer, it restarts it by moving the mouse connected via the PS2 socket (via the USB port does not work). This could be used to solve the problem. For now, I am omitting some mechanical wonders, such as a Brise scent motor, etc., which mechanically press the power button, etc. Would it be possible to make a system transmitting the signal from the calling phone (from the bell, display, etc.) to the PS2 socket in order to start the computer? Unfortunately, I am "green" in electronics and I will not make such a system myself, but ... maybe I can find a friendly "soul" on the forum that would make such a layout for me, based on any used phone, of course for a fee. best regards

And it won't be easier to buy an ESP8266 module with a relay (ESP8266 5V WiFi relay module) and connect the relay to the power switch circuit of the computer motherboard? The cost of the finished module is ~ $ 2 for aliexpress. You can do the control via the supla.org application.

Will such a solution meet the requirement of remote commissioning from anywhere in the world. It seems to me that the phone should be logged into the same wifi as ESP8266 and this will not allow me to remotely start the computer from a remote location. Maybe I'm wrong after all ... Thank you for the suggestions. Maybe some other solution?

Yes, this solution will meet your requirements. It is not necessary for the phone to be on the same wifi network. You can do it based on ready-made kits Sonoff . They are available even on the Allegro. Watch YT videos related to Sonoff.

The second option is to use a device that sends a wake-on signal over the network to your computer. Some wifi routers have wake-on support if this cannot be accomplished by port forwarding on the router. If you use TeamViewer software, you will be able to wake up the computer through the application on the phone.

Thanks for the advice. I bought Sonoff Basic - a universal WiFi controlled switch - a nice device will definitely work. Should I connect the 230V output contacts with the main switch of the computer housing or with the restart button?

We'll have to figure it out a bit :) Without any modifications, Sonoff Basic is used to control the 230V circuit, so you connect the input to a 230V socket, and the output to the computer power supply plug:

However, we want to use the relay itself to turn on the power - so as to simulate turning on the power button on the computer housing. Therefore, we have to separate the relay contacts in Sonoff Basic from the 230v power supply. If you want to use the contacts of the power switch button (the one connected to the computer motherboard), cut the path on the board according to the marked red line and lead them to the contacts of the power switch:

Then it will be safe to connect the controller with the computer.

Hello, I wanted to do without modifications, so ... I bought a Sonoff Basic - I plugged it into the computer power cable. In bios, I set the computer to turn on after losing power. After pairing Sonoff, applying the voltage remotely to the turned off computer causes it to "raise" ... For now, it is OK. Remote shutdown - batch program file.bat (shutdown -s -t) Regards

Topic summary

The discussion revolves around the challenge of remotely turning on a computer without Wake On LAN support. The user seeks alternatives to achieve this using a mobile phone. Suggestions include using an ESP8266 WiFi relay module to control the power switch of the computer, which allows remote activation without being on the same WiFi network. Another recommended solution is the Sonoff Basic, a WiFi-controlled switch, which can be configured to power on the computer by connecting it to the power supply and setting the BIOS to turn on after power loss. The user successfully implemented the Sonoff Basic, allowing remote power activation without modifications to the hardware.
