Hello, Gentlemen my missus has a problem with her mail on wp (now it's 1login) someone has hacked into her account and is sending strange things to others, some spam mainly. The password can't be changed, the only option to recover the password is a help question but she can't remember the answer, the account is 12 years old after all, apart from that it's the only option to recover which is a scandal. WP cannot be reached not only we have this problem but masses of people.... Now a question, the best thing would be to delete this account but if you delete it there is no option to redirect to another email such as gmail yes ? How to figure it out, nothing can be done with WP so you can't count on their help...

If someone has not set others up, now the crying remains.

Call the numbers until you get through.

Even when people have set up others it's a problem too, you're not on the subject of this shite from wp then why are you posting? That's the kind of advice I know too and no thanks. I am mainly concerned with the topic of redirection and not golden advice from callers.

There is no other way. If you delete your account, you are no longer redirected, which is logical. Besides, how can you delete an account if you can't even log into it?

You can just log in and change the settings but you can't change the password, it's a pathology.

I.e., you have a password and in order to change it you have to answer a question created when creating your account? That's idiotic, unless instead of changing your password, you choose the "I don't remember my password" option. Luckily I don't have an account on WP and I don't even know what they've broken there now and I hope I won't find out ;-) .

This is exactly how idiotic it is, no matter whether I choose DON'T REMEMBER PASSWORD or CHANGE PASSWORD, only one option is shown with an auxiliary question.

WP has merged with some garbage 1login or something and such pathology is there.... no one answers the helpline, one minute's call costs a fortune, no one answers emails, no one answers Facebook, same thing.

Reading posts on FB you can see that a lot of people have such a thing, people send sms to unlock the account for 6zł and they get the wrong code. Well pathology.

Topic summary

The discussion revolves around a user facing difficulties in changing a password for a WP Mail account (now integrated with 1Login) after being hacked. The primary issue is the inability to recover the password due to forgotten security question answers. Users express frustration over the lack of support from WP, highlighting that deleting the account does not allow for email redirection to another service like Gmail. Various responses suggest that the only recovery option involves answering the security question, which many find inadequate. The conversation also notes widespread dissatisfaction with WP's customer service and recovery processes.
