My Electrolux dishwasher has started to fail. At the end of a 2-3 hour washing programme it spits out two errors i11 or i44, sometimes one sometimes the other.
The first one indicates too low pressure, an obstructed water valve or clogged filters. I have looked all over the place and it seems that this is not where the problem lies. The second indication is not in my owner's manual but from what I've looked it relates to similar causes.

I decided to dismantle the dishwasher and see what could be causing this behaviour. Next to the salt tank is some other tank which looks clogged:

I would like to ask if this could be the reason through which the dishwasher is protesting and should this tank be cleaned?

Hello, it seems to be an ion tank (or something like that) that is not cleaned.

Code i44 : pressure sensor signal has too low a value
    • This error occurs when the signal is not within the permissible range, i.e. it has too low a value for more than 2.5 seconds.
    • The signal range is defined in the MCF file.
    • Abort the program and display the error.

And secondly, correct the model of the dishwasher or give the PNC of the dishwasher, as the model you have given is not present.

Corrected. So either the pressure sensor could be broken or the water supply to the dishwasher has dropped in pressure a few times recently (I noticed that when I turn the faucet on full in the garden it actually drops in pressure at home, maybe I actually turned it off a few times while the dishwasher was running and that's where this behavior comes from).

The i11 error has come up again. I have checked all the hoses and they are ok. I have no idea what is to blame anymore.

If this is the case, look for a reputable professional. Electrolux dishwashers are notorious for their plethora of faults.

Code i11 : during dynamic water filling
    • Audible signal and visual alarm, depending on the configuration of the unit; possibility of restarting the programme.
    • Failure to reach the specified water level within the set time.
    • Countdown of the time limit starts when the filling solenoid valve is opened.
    • The time limit is reset to zero when the filling solenoid valve is closed.
    • The water is pumped off before an error is displayed to the user.
    • Time limit: normal cycle: 120 s; test cycle = 60 s (these values may vary as they depend on the specifications of the wash cycle)

Because everyone thinks repairs are fun, someone will point their finger at what to replace and it will work.
Measure, measure and measure again. You already know the error codes and what. New and latest models, will be even more difficult to repair.
If you don't know what the problem is, you either want to save money on repairs - which in most cases ends up with
most cases you end up scrapping a good appliance or the pump or heater is playing a trick.
The electronics you have are PB150 and this one is not likely to be a marker.

The reason for the strange errors appearing, most often (but not always) is precisely the electronics in these dishwashers. "These", i.e. all Electrolux dishwasher models where the module is located at the bottom back of the dishwasher, in a distinctive tin can. Well, first there is a hydrostat error message i30, i11, etc. This quite often causes water to overflow into the bottom tray and triggers the aqua stop system. The user then pulls out the dishwasher to 'take a look to see what happened there'. It is already possible to flood the module with water at this stage, but this usually happens when the dishwasher is laid on its back. If we add to this the fact that it is almost impossible for an inexperienced person to unplug this module, the cause is ready.
I, as a rule, do not even go to diagnose these dishwashers to save myself money and stress. There are much nicer appliances to fix.

The problem was the use of sprinklers in the garden which lowered the water pressure in the house while the dishwasher was running

Topic summary

The Electrolux ESL8345RO dishwasher is experiencing error codes i11 and i44, indicating issues related to water pressure and sensor signals. The i11 error suggests a failure to reach the specified water level during dynamic filling, while i44 indicates a low pressure sensor signal. Users have noted that these errors may stem from clogged components, particularly an ion tank near the salt tank, and fluctuations in water pressure due to external factors like garden sprinklers. Recommendations include checking hoses, cleaning the ion tank, and consulting a professional for persistent issues, as Electrolux dishwashers are known for complex faults.
