How Do I Control Radio Signal Range, Boost AND Diminish

Hello,

I am currently working on a project involving walkie talkies. I need to know how I would have full control over the walkie talkie's range. Essentially, I would like to be able to set a specific range limitation for the walkie talkie signal and to make this range adjustable.

Bonus Question:

How would I take a weakened signal and then invert it to a strong signal? So as a signal becomes weaker then the other signal become stronger. Would I need some sort of inverting device, and if so what kind? I want a light emitting device to get brighter as the walkie talkie approaches a preset range limit.

If anyone who can help me with these questions, I will be most appreciative.

First it is not simple.
Second thing how are You good in radio aspects ....

You neet to have a minimum double receiver circuit in Yours walkie talkies....
But for good solution it need to have 2 independent transceivers ....

Second thing is establish a range ... because in radio it is not so easy to calculate ... range depends on : band, terrain, location (external or indoor use).

Example for this is BTS (GSM CellPhone station and GSM mobile Phone)...
