What is the relationship between THD of output voltage and output load? Recently i did one project of single phase inverter. When output load increase, the THD of output voltage also increase, what is the reason behind?

I understand about the linear and non-linear load effect to the voltage/current waveform. MY experimental is a linear load. However, when i increase my load, let say from 20 Ohm to 50 Ohm, the voltage THD also increase from 1% to 10%. My current THD also increase. I have no idea about the reason of THD increment..
