Anybody with Brushless 3 phase IC experience(MC33035)?

Hi Everyone

I recently jumped on a new project and it involves brush less 3 phase DC motors.
Now the big problem im having is that the motor that I have does not have sensors.
I bought the MC33035 ( Brushless 3phase motor driver IC ) and it has allot of nice little functions but I cant seem to find a way to dodge the sensor inputs.

If anybody knows anything about these ICs or had similar problems or just want to help please reply and ill reply with the Full detail on how far I am and the things I have tried.

And in the data sheet " Figure 38. Three Phase, Three Step, Half Wave Motor Controller " is the one i am using.

It looks like this IC requires rotor position sensors to work. There are sensorless 3 phase brushless motor contol approaches but you might need to get a different IC. Here is a "paper":http://www.atmel.com/images/doc8012.pdf on the topic.

I'll also throw out there that if you really cant have 3-phase and DC in the same place. If you are running this by DC then you must have some kind of switching scheme. In effect you are converting the DC to pulsating DC which in effect is AC. You will need precise control of this and that is what I presume the controller and sensors do.
