Best RTOS for Beginners on ARM7 (NXP LPC2138) and Learning Resources for FreeRTOS

Greetings All,

I am having knowledge of ARM7(Nxp LPC2138) and i can program it pretty well. now i want to move towards RTOS ,and basically i dont know anything about RTOS and want to start programming in it as soon as possible,, so what is a best source to start ?? which RTOS i should use?? and From where i can find all the details (a-z) about particular RTOS ?

I had googled for the same many time and i have downloaded RTOS from freertos.org but finding very difficult to start anything on my own, so if you know anything from above then please reply ...

This is an Electrical Engineering forum. You're probably hearing crickets because, like me, everyone else is not up on RTOS.

But, I tried Googling "ARM7 RTOS" and saw a healthy list of apparently pertinent hits (I'll leave it to you to verify that

I started learning my first RTOS with vxWorks 5.2 on VME boards that had M68040 and M68060 processors. I guess that was about 20 years ago. I used it up to vxWorks 6.x and used linux mostly in recent years.

freeRTOS looks like a decent option. I'm not sure how well it supports various peripherals, so you may be writing drivers.
