Hello Everybody!!

Could someone help me because I am trying to understand or get the hang of the C programming language. Is there any books or websites that someone could point me towards? I really need to get this concept figured out. Thanks a lot in advance.

Hello Peter, My best experience in learning C was with the John Main C learning course. It was great and I enjoyed learning it while actually programming micro controllers with it. Try this link. http://www.best-microcontroller-projects.com/c-programming-course-sales-page-f1.html In just a few weeks I was programming my own micro projects.

Yes, there's lots of good C stuff online. For a hard copy book the best I've found by far is "C A Reference Manual" by Harbison & Steele.

You always see people recommending "K&R," the original C book by Kernighan and Ritchie, but the "H&S" book has more examples, is completely cross-referenced, and covers the run-time libraries.

I'm still lugging around my 1991 Third Edition, which you can find used for under $20 (but not from me!).

You want to avoid the dreaded "premature optimization," where you spend time making your first-pass code 'too perfect,' only to totally change it later anyway, but I wish I'd known some of these tips when I first started writing C.
