FPGA Engineering

Now I have my FPGA programed using one of the tool kits, I order the same FPGA chip from lets say Digikey and receive it. Wow fantastic! How do I use it on my own project PCB?
So my question is not how to program FPGAs using HDL or how to get started with starter kits, it's how to use it like in any electronic device? Is there any book, reference manual, design guides, schematics show me how to embed it into my PCB?

Have a bit of patience. It's Christmas!

There are many different FPGA's available from different manufacturers. Google for the 'datasheet' of the one you're using and start reading. The most common way to get it programmed is to load the 'program' on a flash chip that has to be mounted on the pcb of the device you are making.

I searched many datasheets of different FPGAs but none shows any useful schematic. No books out there at least show a general method with some FPGA specific examples.

I figured out that for novices and beginners like me without a schematic it's impossible not to count on commercial toolkits, where the novices are the cash cow for this market. However experts that can read datasheets and figure out a schematic or at least have the $$$ to spend on trying multi-layer PCBs and burnt out expensive parts are the ones who work in big design houses.
