Hello,
I need to display the status of some sensor into the display. currently I use indicators which powered up with 24VDC. Please see attached the picture of these indicators.

Can I send 5 volt input to RS-232 port and via GUI indicate the status of sensor (On or OFF).
If I can, how should I interface the 5 volt input to RS-232????

Hi Farzad,

You can make use of MAX232 Drivers/Receivers to provide serial communication between the sensor and end user. You can also integrate it with MCUs for more efficient sensor indication management.

Neil,
many thanks for suggestion. I used Galil PLC RIO47300. I connect 52 of my system signals to input of these PLC and via computer RS232 read the status of the signals(on or off).

The system works fine now.
