Hi All,

I am working a project and I would like to know about some low DC starting current applications, but the running current is high.
I am working on a product which can switch only low currents but can handle continuous high currents. hence in search of applications where this product can be used.

Could you provide more detail on what you are trying to achieve.

The solution may be something as a simple NTC resistor that starts out at a high impedance, restricting the current, and then drops as it warms up.

On the other hand you could have a system of multiple devices- for instance (in the old days at least) on a Diesel engine you would start by passing a current to heat the engine and the a far higher current to crank the engine.

Applications can be special lamps that need low initial currents and then the current increases, or motors, or some batteries (for example obsolete ones) that initially need low current and then the current increases.
