    Hello.
    What is class and what is accuracy, what is the difference between them?
    Could you please define these two terms or explain the difference between them?

    Thank you in advance,
    greetings.

    Hello.

    Class is a concept assigned to measuring equipment. It means boundary error (the largest) committed during the measurement this instrument. There are three ways to indicate the class of an instrument:

    1) e.g. 1.5 -> means that the limit error made during the measurement with this instrument (under reference conditions -> at calibration temperature) does not exceed ? 1.5% range values .

    2) 1.5 in a circle -> means 1.5% from the indicated value

    3) 1.5 -> means error of 1.5% of the graduation length. If the length of the graduation
    ___ \ / ______ is e.g. 100mm, the error is ? 1.5mm
    (The dashes are meant to lock the V in exactly that place, in fact it is not.)

    Accuracy is a concept that is directly related to the measurement and method of measurement. Accuracy consists of apparatus error (resulting from the instrument class) + method error + random error.

    When it comes to the class of inaccuracies of measuring instruments:

    Instrument's inaccuracy class - this is the conventionally accepted value of the permissible error at any point in the measuring range, referred to the entire measuring range [%].

    Class = (?op / Z) * 100

    For all types of instruments, except for electric meters, the following series of inaccuracy classes are 0.1 (0.1% error), 0.16; 0.25; 0.4; 0.6; 1; 1.6; 2.5; 4; 6; 10.

    Regards, Mat.

    I just add that the accuracy class means the maximum relative error made by the meter. Based on the accuracy class, measuring instruments are divided into:
    -laboratory (0.1; 0.2; 0.5)
    -technical (1; 1.5; 2.5)
    - indicators (above 3)
