    Withe!!
Gentlemen, I'm ashamed to admit but I have a trivial problem: / it's about making an antenna cable. Should the shield of the antenna cable be connected to this plate in the antenna socket or should it be cut evenly and not connected to anything ?! I have a room antenna on a short cable and I want to extend it, but although I do not combine it with this cable, there is still some connection. sometimes it picks up with the screen stuck to this plate, once it picks up when the core itself is inserted: / my hands are already dropping. Thank you in advance for your help

Hello. Write with what cable you want to extend this cable and with what connectors. I would suggest you to do it with F-type connectors. The braid is the ground and the wire is the signal and both must be connected. Make the connection with the antenna turned off, because you can make a short circuit and the antenna will be thrown out. Regards Wojcia.

the screen is to be connected to this "plate"

you will not damage the antenna by short-circuiting the output, the antenna is a piece of wire connected between the ground and the central wire without a braid (i.e. a short circuit), even if it is an active antenna with an amplifier, the power supply is filtered and a short circuit in the plug leading to the TV will not damage anything

    Hello...
This is how it is supposed to look ...

The copper conductor inside must not touch anything, neither the screen nor the braid ..
The screen (this silver) is cut off together with the white center as shown in photo 4.

great advice especially this photo. Only yes, I have a room antenna with an amplifier and for a moment I even managed to get a clear picture :) The f-type connector is unlikely to work for me because how would I put it into the TV ?! because the antenna has a short cable, I have to add an extension. Maybe I can buy better quality tips or a cable ...

buy as much cable as you need + meter for spare;] and antenna plug, unscrew the antenna and solder (screw) this cable in place of the original one, each connector introduces losses (interference), especially when it is connected "somehow";]

There are many and different connectors of the antenna cable ...
You earn the same cable for the connector as for the end of the TV. The choice is yours whether you buy a new longer cable for the antenna or just extend the one you have ...

As colleague @@@ otapi @@@ wrote on each connector you lose about 2 decibels on the cable, so the choice is yours. If you can handle the soldering iron, I recommend that you unscrew the housing from the antenna and solder a new longer cable ...

I think I have a damaged power supply, when I connect the power supply, there are no changes in the picture, I measured the voltage on the power supply, there is no 12v :( below I attach a photo. If you can, answer what to check to see what hurts him :) thank you in advance for your help

sorry, I checked at the very output from the power supply there is 12v at the ends of the cable there is no. It turned out that the cable was somehow broken, when I cut it, it fell out: /

Topic summary

The discussion revolves around the proper connection of the shield in an antenna cable when extending it. Users advise that the shield (braid) should be connected to the antenna socket plate to ensure proper grounding, while the central conductor should not touch the shield. F-type connectors are recommended for the extension, although some users express concerns about compatibility with their TV. Suggestions include soldering a new longer cable directly to the antenna to minimize signal loss from connectors. Additionally, one user reports issues with their power supply, indicating a potential cable break affecting voltage delivery.
