    Hello
At the beginning, I would like to apologize for duplicating the topic, but what I have read on the forum in this topic has not helped me much, so I decided to describe my problem and ask someone who knows about it for a brief step-by-step description.

I would like to connect 2 routers in a detached house. My first router is Cerberus p631-4a pentagram connected to the Netia telephone network. Everything is set up and everything works WIFI and connection via LAN cable to the computer. station The problem is going downstairs with the laptop to the kitchen, here the range is very weak or disappears.
I would like to ask for an explanation of how to connect the second router preferably via the LAN cable at the bottom to improve the signal strength there
I have a router from Netia at my disposal, which I received for PLN 1 Asmax 1004G
What and how do I have to set up in each of the routers, how to connect it to use wifi on two floors?

Both routers have a built-in ADSL modem

Below I present Print screenshots of both LAN, WAN, DHCP, Wirless routers

The first is Cerberus p631-4a pentagram

The second router is Asmax 1004G and its configuration. I took the router out of the box. I didn't change anything in the options. I did not enter any login or password to access the Internet

    Hello
What you want to achieve is not a particularly difficult task. The best way to do it is to take a twisted pair and plug it into one of the free ports of the switch in the Pentagram (probably one of the four). Connect the other side of the cable to the ASMAX router to the WAN port. This solution has many advantages, you will create an additional subnet at home, which, as in the future, you will gain additional knowledge, you will be able to additionally secure and configure.
    Device configuration:

    PENTAGRAM
Here, the matter is simple, do not change the internet settings, I can see from the slide that you have DHCP turned on, so we will stick to it so as not to confuse you too much. In fact, you don't have to set anything here - we leave it unchanged.

    ASMAX
You don't have to change Lan settings in this router either, this is what your new subnet will look like in your home. Only the WAN port is to be configured. I see that you already have two settings there, probably configured for netia. On the slide (8432952100_1307528344.png) in the WAN options, you need to click ADD and add a new setting (leave these two for yourself, maybe they will be useful in the future)
and here, unfortunately, I do not know what will pop up, but you should select "Dynamic Ip address" or "Static IP address". In the case of the first option, you will enter only DNS addresses, but as the address of your first router, i.e. 192.168.1.1 (this should be the same address to which you log in to the first router)
If the dynamic ip address in the Wan settings fails then select "Static ip" it will certainly work, but you will need to enter more options:
IP address : here you enter the address from your lan network of the first router, i.e. 192.168.1.110 (DHCP starts to assign you from 100)
    Mask : you have 255.255.255.0
ISP gatewey here the address of your router at the top, which is 192.168.1.1
DNS here also your router address at the top 192.168.1.1

the above options may be called different for you and they will certainly be, but you already have the scheme and you should be able to handle it. GOOD LUCK.

You probably exaggerated a bit and did not notice that both routers are routers with a built-in ADSL modem, so they are important for RJ-11 plugs.

I did make a terrible mistake. I admit that I completely did not check the specifications of the routers, but even that does not justify me - it's TPsa, for my excuse I will only say that fortunately I have nothing to do with them since the end of the 90s.

I will say to "Jankesik" that with this equipment you will not fix it with a cable. you can buy a second router downstream (traditional without xDSL mod). Later, I will check whether both devices have Wi-Fi and whether they support bridge or AP client mode. I apologize in advance. Later still edits this post.

You've made a little fop again.

Yes, modem / router usually resist this configuration, but I have encountered several cases of correct operation:
You configure one piece of equipment as an ordinary modem / router, so in this situation the Pentagram remains.
You assign a free IP from the Pentagram subnet to Asmax on the LAN, you absolutely turn off the DHCP server in it.
You configure WAN as PPPoE with IP DHCP
You connect both routers with LAN ports with a cable, configure wifi on Asmax with the channel 6 units away from the pentagram.
And you pray for it to work :) .

I haven't been on the electrode for a long time and I can see that my return is not very successful. Time to redeem yourself. Hermes is right, it could work. The point is that in Asmax (as in any router) you have an ordinary switch, the problem is that it is connected to the router inside the device and this works to our disadvantage. As Hermes writes, you need to turn off the DHCP address assignment option in Asmax, we only want to have a switch. It remains for us to cheat the router - in the WAN Asmax options, select PPPoE (by ether, not to be confused with PPPoA - by ATM, it is used for tepsy, but that's not what it is about now). above, which is as I wrote in the first post (unfortunately missed: cry :) :
    IP address: 192.168.1.110
    DNS: 192.168.1.1

And with any luck it should work.

    UPDATE
Now I looked at your screenshots as you clicked add and it seems to me that this router only has PPPoA (unless there was something else before) so I think nothing can be done except buying a regular router.

I found the Wireless-Bridge Access Point tab. It may be useful. Screen below

I also found a manual for my modem. It may be useful

The Bridge is 100% not because it will turn off all the functionality of the device as a router and make it an ADSL modem.

Hermes warned me for a second and I had to redo the post, bridge actually not, choose PPPoE and encapsulation as LLC / SNAP-BRIDGING - I'm not 100% sure about this encapsulation (as on page 36) - if it won't work, write what other options are there . You click next and on the next page that appears for you (manual page 37) you leave the fields PPP usename and password blank and mark a "tick" next to "Use staric IP". It is true that there is no such thing in the manual, but a window should pop up where you enter the previously mentioned (previous post) IP addresses. And one more thing, if a window pops up on your way, as on page 39, check the "tick" next to "Enable WAN service". And it should flicker, but not necessarily :D

Everything looks ok. If there are problems, try unchecking Bridge PPPoE Frames between WAN and LAN ... (slide 1-3)

And should I choose PPP over Ethernet? And I entered the correct IP so that it would work with my Pentagram

Firewall is set to Enabled. It will not block.

Well, you have to choose PPPoE after all, it has already been written about it and confirmed that you are right. Don't worry about the IP address with your standard 255.255.255.0 netmask, any address you don't enter between 192.168.1.2 and 192.168.1.254 should work. It will force an appropriate address on your computer, i.e. in the properties of the network connection on your computer, set the IP address 192.168.1.110 Mask: 255.255.255.0 Gate 192.168.1.1 and DNS 192.168.1.1. And let's establish that if something is not mentioned, it means that it is unnecessary.
Oh, don't worry about firewall, this function is exaggerated, moreover, to work it must be properly configured, by itself it blocks only what does NAT / PAT - no matter. Let us establish that although it does not exist.

    Oh one more thing

I entered the VPI 8 in the router settings. Is it OK?

"For the Neostrada VPI service = 0, and for the Net24 VPI service = 8"

Do not worry about these VPI - the router-modem is not needed for proper operation - you can enter whatever you want. Check "Internet Protocol Version 4 ..." and click the properties button below.

I did not change any network settings on the computer but it worked like that

    Everything works :) :)

Topic summary

To connect two routers for improved Wi-Fi coverage in a detached house, the user has a Pentagram Cerberus P631-4A router connected to the Netia network and an Asmax 1004G router. The recommended method involves using a LAN cable to connect the two routers. The Pentagram router should maintain its DHCP settings, while the Asmax router should have its DHCP server disabled and be configured to use PPPoE with a static IP address assigned from the Pentagram's subnet. The Wi-Fi channels on both routers should be set to avoid interference. After configuration, the user successfully established a connection, enhancing Wi-Fi coverage throughout the house.
