  • If you are the owner or user of the Elta 2761 jukebox, you are certainly furious with some obvious drawbacks resulting from the lack of development of this project.
Elta 2761 N Hollywood-10 Jukebox: Lighting and Settings Issues After Power Off
There are at least 2 of them
    1. The problem with the lighting of the "booth", the main LCD display and the element placed under it.
2.Loss of settings after turning off with POWER switch.

The first problem is easily solved by interfering with the lighting connection system.
This gives us the ability to turn off the device from the remote control in STAND-BY, turning off everything except the stripes under the display (they will serve as a standby indicator - "STAND-BY")
The lighting of the "booth" should be cut off from the board at the front of the cabinet, which also supplies power to the main control board.
Then, after unscrewing the display panel (four screws under the large buttons from the front and two under the large buttons from the inside of the housing)
unscrew the plate with the display from the front panel without turning it too much so that the buttons do not fall out. On both sides of the display there are LEDs, pasted to its base and soldered to the board. Both LEDs on the board are connected by a path to which the power cable from the motherboard is soldered on the right side. We cut into it in series and lead the end to the back of the booth. It is also worth including the decorative element below a 2.2k? resistor in series with the illuminating diode, which will limit its brightness (it will be the only illuminating element in STAND-BY.
The next step is to unscrew the motherboard located on the right side of the booth from the rear. Find the cable connecting the CD with the changer and the place where it connects to the motherboard. use the meter to find the voltage of 12V (2-3 pin of the connector)
We choose the one with a wider path and attach a cable to it, which we also lead to the back of the booth. We also connect one wire to the ground (the path of the largest surface connected to the metal casing of the tuner head) and lead to the same place as the previous ones.
The 12V power supply, which is not active in the stand-by, will be used to turn off the lighting of the booth and the display using the relay connected to it.
We use the smallest possible relay (50-80 mA coil consumption). the coil is connected to the power supply from the changer, and the LED backlight of the "booth" is connected to this power supply. We connect "a notch in the display's power supply to the C and NO contacts of the relay (there is about 3V there, so you cannot connect to the power supply from the changer).
In such a cheap way, you can improve the annoying bright lighting yourself.
I additionally installed 4 red super bright LEDs centrally under the red shades, and under the star on the front of the subwoofer. The diode under the star is mounted on the DYT wire glued under the base of the bulb, thanks to which I was able to direct the beam with the beam centrally to the center of the star.
The diodes can be connected in parallel with the supply of the coil of our relay through a 1.1 to 2.2k resistor

This modification gives an interesting effect - it enlivens the equipment, while we do not use the main neon which is beautiful but a bit too bright on a daily basis (which is different when we do a party)
Defect no. 2 is still unresolved, but if you can turn it off to stand by and it does not shine like a roadside shrine, this is progress. Unfortunately, if there is no electricity, you have to re-program the stations and sound settings.
Of course, you can build a buffer power supply with a small battery to keep the memory.
Or maybe someone has already solved this problem in a different way.
I am happy to contact the users of Elta 2761, 2752, 2753, Steepletone CD Radio iPod Jukebox or Crosley jukebox hollywood 10CD jukebox users
