Hello and welcome. I have a question for you. I have a gas stove, which is responsible for heating the apartment and water. I don't like to use gas excessively because bills in winter are huge. As you know, in 2-3-4 months the heating period will start. I wanted to ask, according to the information contained in the subject, whether only 3 radiators in rooms where I am not staying will help me save some money in the winter? Will the fact that 3 radiators be turned off will reduce gas consumption significantly?
I will add that these are the type of radiators link

If you have thermostatic heads, turn them by 1 interval, but not much, because the heat will still escape through underheated walls.

I don't usually have taps on radiators. But in general, will turning off 3 out of 5 radiators reduce gas consumption? A year ago, I spent the whole winter on 1 radiator. This one wants 2 or 3.

More heat receivers - more consumption - more consumption. But let's not go to extremes. Aluminum radiators are highly efficient. The bill won't kill you. Unless you are heating a bottomless well, e.g. a garage

If you reduce the number of radiators, and the air flow between the rooms remains, you can even count on increasing gas consumption, because the boiler will then work to the max to heat it, and then it has lower efficiency.

And I would stick to these heads myself. Specifically, their absence. Install it and you will see the difference. And maybe some kind of room regulator. This helps you save.

I'll write like this. The stove automatically heats the water in the radiators from time to time.
I usually set the temperature of the stoves to the minimum, up to 45-50 degrees.
Yes, there is actually 1 radiator in the small bathroom. This one will be disabled.
The 2nd radiator is in the kitchen it is turned on and another one in the 2nd room where no one is staying is such a room that I will write so for a picu.
I have 2 radiators in my room, but for certain reasons, 1 was mostly covered with a wardrobe, which at the moment I can't get out because there is no wallpaper on the back and we know what it would look like. I'll be painting it next year, so I'll reveal it then. And above the bed I practically have 1 large radiator and I want it to heat only it.
can provide a diagram for formalities.

One more thing. Why is water dripping from the vent all the time from 1 radiator?

no matter if I screw it up or open it, it still drips.

If it drips, the vent is faulty and needs to be replaced, of course after turning off the water supply to the radiator (both supply and return).

In each room, it should be opened minimally so as not to cool down much because of moisture and mushrooms :D . Well, besides, with 1 or 2 radiators, the boiler will be HIGHLY clocked.

    Hello.

I'll dig up my thread because my stove is already fixed! It smells like a novelty! :D I found a great professional. There were 2 of me, they both wanted to take the stove ... a modest gentleman came without saying anything after 5 minutes I had a working stove :)

As for the last statement, to this day I was burning wood in my apartment. Due to low gas consumption, they changed my tariff from W2.1 to 1.1 but never mind.

I have this question now. In my apartment, as you can see above, there are 5 radiators. How much gas does my stove use per day? "My thermostat is set to 19.5 during the day and 19 at night. The block is not insulated. In one room, the neighbors keep me warm so that the temperature is 3 degrees higher than in the whole house.

Ok ... how much gas do I use per day with 50 degrees on the stove?
I have a large overpayment for gas, I do not regret it. 1 invoice for this year only 2013/June for the amount of PLN 5.13! :P

Topic summary

The discussion revolves around the effectiveness of turning off three out of five radiators in an apartment heated by a gas stove to reduce gas consumption during winter. Users suggest that while reducing the number of active radiators may seem beneficial, it could lead to increased gas usage if the boiler operates at maximum capacity to compensate for the heat loss. The importance of maintaining minimal heating in all rooms to prevent moisture and mold is emphasized. Suggestions include installing thermostatic radiator valves for better control and efficiency. The user also shares experiences with their heating setup, including the thermostat settings and issues with a faulty vent.
