Hello, I recently bought a Corse D from 2009, after a week of use [2 days ago], the "car with key" indicator appeared. The mechanic said it was about oil and filters, which I had to replace anyway. Today, after changing the oil and filters, the indicator still appears, after driving some 0.5-1km, of course, I immediately went back to the mechanic. He wanted to connect the car to the computer, but unfortunately there is empty space in the place where the socket should be. He looked for it and could not find it. Unfortunately, there is no way to take care of the car until Monday and I have an important trip on Friday, about 200 km one way, can I drive safely with this indicator? and what could it be?

The diagnostic socket is under the handbrake. You can't go with it
The ECM does not recognize the key.

There is nothing impossible to look for a socket in the area where it should be installed, it must be there, and the indicator has nothing to do with oil, but there is some error in the controller.

The socket should be next to the cigarette lighter, I checked it with the manual one, but I have nothing there.

Why the conclusion that it does not recognize the key if it fires without a problem?

I see that gentlemen that I have to explain the matter of the magic indicator, the indicator of the car with the key "is not from the oil", the oil indicator is displayed at the point of the mileage. in the absence of any errors in the engine controller, the most common case is too much contamination of the DPF particulate filter. or a pre-heating fault it appears together with the indicator light when it comes to CDTI engines, If this is the case, I put DPF, you can check it very easily, but without a tester it is impossible to check the operating parameters in which you can find such things as the current state of filter pollution, Unfortunately, entering the filter replacement does not always solve the problem when the filter is still saturated, Opel Corsa D 1.3 (2009 Model): Car Key Indicator Persisting Post Oil & Filter Change Opel Corsa D 1.3 (2009 Model): Car Key Indicator Persisting Post Oil & Filter Change Opel Corsa D 1.3 (2009 Model): Car Key Indicator Persisting Post Oil & Filter Change

I will leave the car on Monday so that the mechanic will look for the lost socket and decide what will happen. I know very little about it.
The question is whether I can drive this car, let alone drive more than 200 km in one and then come back so that nothing will happen to the car.

I do not recommend leaving, it is best to check how clogged it is, it can lead to the moment when the car stops firing or the engine power will be limited, photo dpf from astra GTC 2013 2.0cdti Opel Corsa D 1.3 (2009 Model): Car Key Indicator Persisting Post Oil & Filter Change Opel Corsa D 1.3 (2009 Model): Car Key Indicator Persisting Post Oil & Filter Change Opel Corsa D 1.3 (2009 Model): Car Key Indicator Persisting Post Oil & Filter Change

The inspection lamp does not disappear by itself, after the inspection is performed, it must be canceled (no computer is needed for this).

According to the manual, when it lights up together with the InSP, it only reminds you about the inspection, when it blinks or lights by itself - it signals a fault.

    How to do it?

After checking the candles "if they are OKI", I suggest you check the glow plug controller. They can get hot with BUK.

Depress and hold the brake, press and hold the trip mileage reset button, turn the ignition on, hold the mileage reset button until the display shows '----', turn off the ignition.

The inspection has been canceled. A key lamp indicates a fault. Marked with an arrow in the photo. Without checking, no one knows what the fault is. Opel Corsa D 1.3 (2009 Model): Car Key Indicator Persisting Post Oil & Filter Change

Fault codes should be able to be 'dodged' (though I don't know if this covers faults other than emissions related):

The mechanic connected the car to the computer and showed no errors, waited for this LED to appear and connected it again and nothing too. He said that according to him, the car is operational and I have no idea why this LED is showing. He reset the computer but after driving about a kilometer the diode lights up again.

I do not know mechanics but when it shines it is for a reason

I did as it showed in the video and the code 6342 popped up

What was this mechanic connected with? The ODB scanner will not show anything, it must be equipment dedicated to Opel or some decent universal one.

Check the glow plugs, one will probably burn out.

    Hello,
I got an e-mail reminding me about this topic, asking for information if it was possible for me to solve the problem.

More than a year has passed, and the indicator light is on. I wrote that it lights up after driving about 1 km, there is something about it, although not completely, it always lights up in the same place, just about a kilometer from my home, but it is rather due to the passage of time ... i.e. when the car is standing, it also happens they panted when I go slower because someone is dragging in front of me, it will catch fire closer to the house, but after more or less the same time. When the car is warm, it will light up a few seconds after the engine is started.

As for candles, because someone mentioned them. A few months ago I had a problem with uneven engine operation, one cylinder [I think it is called, because as I have already written, I am not an expert] probably did not work. I gave it to my favorite mechanic, he is good and cheap but he doesn't like diesel and he referred me to the guests what only candles do, they checked me all twice. They changed places and found the candles to be good. It turned out at a diesel specialist that a module was flooded with water. Leaves clogged a drain and the water has collected somewhere. After the replacement, the car ran as it was before the fault and the LED was still on. This mechanic also checked the car under the computer and there are no errors ... and the LED is on. He said I can go to Opel, but they won't necessarily explain where it comes from either, and they'll delete it well.

I will also say that I was with this car several times on a route of about 1200 km, many times 400-500 km.

I wonder if I will ever find out what it is.

Scan of all car systems. A good tester. And ... Bulb overview. Do they all shine and have the correct power.

I already know what class of mechanic we are dealing with. Such a situation in this engine is caused, for example, by a damaged EGR.

Did you see the post date? Do you think that for 7 years no one found out what was wrong with him?

Just because the same light comes on does not mean the same problem with the car. First diagnostics then help.

I sold the car a long time ago, with a mistake. Over time I got used to it, no one found what was wrong with it.

This light is the same as "check engine", if it is on there will be an error stored in the engine control unit, except that no EOBD tester will be able to read it. Also, not that "there are no errors" just the wrong equipment read it.

Topic summary

The discussion revolves around a persistent "car with key" indicator on a 2009 Opel Corsa D 1.3 after an oil and filter change. The user expresses concern about the indicator's continued presence despite maintenance and seeks advice on whether it is safe to drive the vehicle for a long trip. Responses indicate that the diagnostic socket, crucial for error checking, may be missing or misplaced, complicating the diagnosis. Various potential causes for the indicator are discussed, including issues with the engine control module (ECM), DPF contamination, and glow plug faults. Users emphasize the importance of proper diagnostics with appropriate equipment, as generic OBD scanners may not detect specific Opel errors. The conversation highlights the need for further inspection and caution before undertaking long drives.
