Hello . I live in an apartment on the 4th floor in a block made of a large panel. From spring all windows must be open because it is impossible to withstand such stuffiness and temperature. My wife and I decided to buy air conditioning or a free-standing air conditioner ..... and here is the problem because air conditioning costs about 5,000 plus different approvals from cooperatives, etc. And the air conditioner costs about PLN 1000. and now we have such a dilemma in what to invest. What do you propose ??

Compare not only costs but also functionality. Where can you exhaust the warm air from the air conditioner and can you withstand its noise?

It remains a question of the position of the pipes and the condensate drain.

All in all, a great solution. And you know how much the whole installation cost you? because prices are different

It was not mine that I found on the net.
I've been looking for something for myself for some time.
It is the easiest way with a balcony, because neither the toto is attached to the facade nor is it permanently fixed ...
And you can even enclose it nicely, but this is against the recommendations in the assembly manual.

Portable split can also be interesting.
You only put one part out the window.

You just have to choose the power

Topic summary

The discussion revolves around the dilemma of choosing between a fixed air conditioning system and a free-standing air conditioner for a 60m2 apartment located on the 4th floor of a large panel block. The user highlights the high installation costs of a fixed unit (approximately PLN 5,000) and the need for approvals from cooperatives, compared to a free-standing unit priced around PLN 1,000. Participants suggest considering functionality, noise levels, and the feasibility of exhaust placement for the air conditioning unit. The presence of a balcony is noted as a potential advantage for installation. Portable split air conditioners are also mentioned as a viable option, requiring only one part to be placed outside the window.
