    Hello,
I have been interested in the above topic for some time and I am curious if it is possible. I have a PC connected to the router with a cable and this is my idea to, for example, display a movie or gameplay from a game on TV. I know that I can connect my computer via HDMI to the TV, but that's not the point. :P On the Windows website I found an article about it (https://support.microsoft.com/pl-pl/help/15053/windows-8-project-wireless-screen-miracast), but when I go to the device tabs there is no "Add wireless screen ". So what can I do with it? Connect a Wi-Fi card to the computer and maybe then it will work? Can it download some other software?
I am asking for some advice, and if I gave the answer to myself, please do not "hate". :D
    greetings

    You have two solutions:

    First:
-TV must support one of the standards: miracast / Intel WiDi / samsung / LG-somethingtamShare
-The computer should have an Intel WiFi card that supports WiDi - the faster the better
    - the computer should be running 8.1 or better Win10. Apparently it also works with Win7, but for me this option did not even show up.
-CPU should (but does not have to) be one of the newer (from 3rd generation) Intel i3 / 5/7 supporting WiDi. If it does not support it, it also works, but it is not even worth firing.
-drivers from everything the latest, directly from Intel's website

Then you can broadcast live images with a delay of about 0.2-1 seconds in practice. The connection is made directly between the computer and the TV, without the use of a router.
I have been dealing with this great invention for a long time. It is moderately compatible, among SmartTV from various companies that I have tested, LG fares the best, and Samsung is the worst. It annoys me that I can't always use it because my computer doesn't have HDMI but DisplayPort, which no TV has ...

// don't even think about playing games - unless it's solitaire.

    The second solution is DLNA:
    - computer and TV connected with a router (wifi or cable, no matter. It works better on the cable)
-system from wines 7 and above
    -SmartTV

Then the TV simply reads from the computer as if it were from an external disk. From the computer, you can choose a movie from what I remember and use play / pause etc.

And what could be the reason for breaking such a connection?
I set Windows Media Player to be a DLNA server and the TV can see and read the contents of the computer's disks (TV Samsung JS8500 and HP Wind 10 i5 laptop)
Unfortunately, it very often breaks the connection and cannot be restored immediately (sometimes it takes half an hour).
Sometimes it works flawlessly for a few days and then breaks off every 30 minutes. by a few.
I can't find a reason, and it pisses me off ;)
When I use Serviio the same thing happens.
    Do you have any thoughts?

I've been struggling with this topic recently. I was able to share the movie and photos via SmartShare on the LG TV. If I know something more, I will let you know and if you can handle it somehow, let me know :)
