Hello. I need to buy an inverter welder for housework. Knowing life at the beginning will do a lot and later will be used once a quarter.
    What would you recommend?
Personally, I'm tuning for Magnum VIP 3000. Maybe Chinese?

From an autopsy, I can recommend Dedra for DIY. Nowhere can I find info on the work cycle of this Magnum, and this is quite an important parameter. It depends on what you want to weld, because at higher current the duty cycle will decrease. I am not a welder, rather DIY. These inventions are not suitable for larger works, because with 120-150A currents they have cycles of 10-20%.

I know you won't get. Look for the magnum cycle. So that you won't be surprised later that you can weld 100A with a 30-40% cycle.

    The pages state 160A / 60%

    ... "DESCRIPTION

Magnum Power VIP 3000 is one of the smallest inverter welders on the Polish market. Dimensions are only 25 x 16 x 10 cm. The weight is 2.7 kg (without welding cables).

The POWER VIP 3000 can be welded with coated electrodes with a maximum diameter of 4.0 mm. At temperatures up to 25 ° C, rutile-cellulose (pink) electrodes with a diameter of 3.25 mm can be welded in 100% mode, i.e. without interruptions.

The housing is metal. It has a carrying handle and a shoulder strap. "...

Sure, you can ask by what current. Because certainly not 160A ...

So quickly, in some places the 60% is efficiency

No ok, just add that once I welded dedera and it got very good. There he writes that it is possible to weld with a 3.25 electrode, which is a conclusion that a current of some 130A. I also found deds for 399 PLN PLN DEDRA DESI190BT 160A IGBT INVERTER WELDING MACHINE

I don't force DEDRY ... This 160A is probably the same as Magnum. In both cases, the manufacturer does not specify a welding cycle. If you can, take a ride to some DIY store and see the 160A Chinese for welding cycle. Even the "Polish" Bester for 160A has a 10-20% cycle. You won't probably be welding with such a current, but it's good to know what the cycle is for example for 100A, because I suppose that you will work in such a range.

Hmmm, it looks like you can weld 140A continuously, and 160A you can weld 60%, i.e. 60% welding, 40% gap. But of course not e.g. 6min / 4min ..
    :)

Magnum is also a total Chinese and today, unfortunately, one of the more emergency.
Look at the ideal from the badek company from this lowest shelf - they have good service.
A little better Chinese is spartus ... but the price.

Well, he killed me, I thought Magnum was worth something. Magnum Snake, for example, has good reviews. I guess I'll buy a cheap ripper.

It's hard to choose in such a budget. Pay attention to the service so that it is free and preferably in the door to door system, as well as the stability of the distributor in Poland. That this is not a company that has made a one-time purchase and after the sale of the goods disappears, and you will remain with the equipment that you can throw in the bin.

that's why I thought of Magnum because I have a shop there and a warranty and post-warranty service. I am surprised that Magnum is in welding stores and other riperry and kraft are not. After that, it's hard to find anything on the web about this particular welder. And its lightest weight is 2.7 kg - a bit strange

Topic summary

The discussion revolves around selecting an inverter welder for home use, specifically comparing the Magnum VIP 3000 with various Chinese alternatives. Users express concerns about the duty cycle of the Magnum, noting that it operates at 160A with a 60% duty cycle, which may not be suitable for all welding tasks. Recommendations include considering the Dedra brand for DIY projects, while cautioning about the performance of Chinese models, which often have lower duty cycles. The importance of service availability and reliability of the distributor is emphasized, as well as the need for a welder that can handle occasional use without significant downtime. Users also mention the weight and portability of the Magnum, which weighs 2.7 kg.
