Hey. I would like to know how long a 12v 74ah battery will last. Taken out of the car, i.e. without charging. On a 12v-220v / 1000W converter connected to it, e.g. to which a laptop will be connected. Parameters on the laptop adapter are: Input: 100-240v 1.5A 50 / 60Hz Output: 19v 4.74A. And it draws 90W because I checked the power consumption meter. Thank you for your help

Measure the current on the battery side, then divide the 74Ah capacity by the measurement result in amperes, you will get the theoretical operating time of the set.

Little attention here. I have a similar system that has implemented protection against complete battery discharge and the inverter will shut down if the battery voltage is lower than a certain value. It is about leaving energy in the battery to start the engine without fear.
So, the inverter may not use the full capacity of the battery, so in addition to theory, you still need to test it in practice.

It depends on the condition of the battery and its current level of charge. Assuming 70% capacity and 70% charge, this inverter, with a load of about 10A can withstand about 2.5-3h.

It all depends on the efficiency of the inverter, the behavior of the battery under load, and the inverter shutdown voltage (if any).
    It's hard to count.

If the inverter is to be used only to power the laptop, buy a suitable car adapter. In this case, it is shooting from a cannon to a mosquito. Unless you plan to use the inverter for other purposes.

Topic summary

The discussion revolves around estimating the operational duration of a 12V 74Ah car battery when connected to a 220V inverter, specifically for powering a laptop that consumes approximately 90W. Key factors influencing battery life include the inverter's efficiency, the battery's condition and charge level, and any built-in discharge protection features of the inverter. Users suggest measuring the current draw to calculate theoretical runtime, which could be around 2.5-3 hours under certain conditions. Additionally, it is recommended to consider using a dedicated car adapter for the laptop to avoid unnecessary use of the inverter.
