Hello. Does it make sense to buy Mana TGL with mileage of 1 100,000 km? The car is from 2007. Servicing at an authorized Mana service point. All the time with the first owner. Used in international transport. I know that it is a bit of reading coffee grounds, but I just wonder if this mileage is not enough to get me into some kind of accumulation of faults or if I will just have to repair the engine soon. I can also choose Dafa lf 55 12.250 with a mileage of 560,000 km. Both cars are at a similar price and I hesitate what to choose. I am asking for some help in making a decision.

I would rather go to MAN - because, the first owner, serviced at an authorized service station and if he is running and doing routes, it is worth taking a look at him. On the downside - age and mileage, you can expect a lot in this age range and mileage. A friend has a TGL and only comes to the workshop for oil changes and brake system repairs, such as pads, the discs sometimes get hit. It doesn't mean that every bottle of this type is so sweet. To help with a possible purchase, it is best to take the MAN Cats diagnostic computer with you to check individual systems and history (if possible). Be sure to review the service book and repair invoices, when and what was done, enter the canal, see from below. If possible, check it on diagnostics. DAF has fewer kilometers and the price is similar, we know that. You haven't written the yearbook or whether it has been serviced.

Daf is from 2008. Euro 4 with ADBLUE. Also from the first owner and also serviced at an authorized service station. It comes from a production company, they only shipped to Germany. Today I called the service to check its VIN and the mileage is confirmed, the full service history from the purchase to now is also there. There were no major repairs. The advantage of DAF is certainly this mileage ... But the Man has a more comfortable cabin and a slightly higher body - 2.8h, Daf 2.5h. It is also without ADBLUE, and the standard is the same. Man has 900 kg higher payload. If not for this mileage, I would not think twice and chose Man, but I have a dilemma because the car wants to use at least 3-4 years ...

DAF LF is not much better than Avia or Robur. Having these two models to choose from, I wouldn't hesitate for 3 seconds. But the choice is yours.

Maybe I would not rate DAF so drastically because there are supporters of this brand, just ask the hauliers who have them. It's the same with MAN, some people like this brand and others wouldn't want to look at it. The angle of view depends on the point of sitting. I bet on MAN, these four-year-olds should be racing or maybe longer, it's a durable stroller.

Any particulars? Why is DAF so weak?

Get behind the wheel and you will know what the difference is. You probably already have everything listed in the mana - high mileage. We are taking care of a few just tgl may max 700,000 km - without major problems, none of the engines were opened - which in the case of a larger tga is not so pink in a few I did a general renovation - somewhere between 850 and a million.
Sorry for the lack of Pl characters.

So far, we are in agreement on MAN. DAF still has AddBlue installed, which is often a problem. This installation requires attention, failures are expensive and installing the emulator is also not cheap, unless a colleague KRISBRUMM adds more, because he knows DAF well

Questions about the solo on the elektroda group....?? Extremely..

But who will forbid.Soon maybe you will start asking about the color of the pants..

    I will answer yes.
I drove both Daf LF and Man TGL.

I completely disagree with the previous speakers.
DAF LF much better cabin, much nicer instruments, generally nicer to drive ... DAF I drove both 6-speed and 8-speed with half. Man TGL 8 speed only.
The box seems to be from the same manufacturer.

I definitely recommend DAF.... in general, German cars are so massively overvalued that I'm surprised that in the age of the Internet someone still buys German cars.

What a friend, you went: not only did you dig up a chop from 6 years ago, you also write from the driver's point of view, and this is a service forum and clearly the word service appears many times, the creator of the topic asked about possible faults.

Topic summary

The discussion revolves around the comparison between two trucks: the MAN TGL 12.240 (2007, 1,100,000 km) and the DAF LF 55 12.250 (2008, 560,000 km). The MAN is noted for its first-owner history, authorized service maintenance, and higher payload capacity, but concerns arise regarding its high mileage and potential for accumulated faults. The DAF, while having lower mileage and a confirmed service history, is criticized for its ADBLUE system, which can lead to expensive repairs. Opinions vary, with some favoring the MAN for its durability and comfort, while others prefer the DAF for its driving experience and cabin quality. Ultimately, the decision hinges on the intended use and longevity expectations for the vehicle.
