Hello, the set of devices presented in the title does not work for me, can I do something about it? In the router configuration, it writes that if the modem is not recognized, I can load the configuration file manually, but I cannot find it anywhere. What should I do to make this router work together with the modem (Internet from T-mobile).

    Router Data:
    Firmware Version: 3.16.9 Build 150319 Rel.60489n
    Hardware Version: MR3420 v2 00000000

You can't do anything about it on the official FW MR-3420. You need to change to an alternative soft and configure it properly for this L850 crap.

First, read http://eko.one.pl/?p=mifi and then download the soft for your version of MR-3420v2, i.e. http://dl.eko.one.pl/mifi/ar71xx/mifi-17.01-snapshot-r3435 -65eec8b-tl-mr3420-v2-squashfs-factory.bin This is the latest version of the alternative FW to this router based on LEDE. The oldest one with which Alcatel's scrap works is Gargoyle 1.6.2.2 (in DHCP connection (cable) and USB0 WAN interface). Since then, Cezary has modified and released the next versions of OpenWRT from Gargoyle, LUCI (BB, CC) and is now working on LEDE and for users of those weak MR-3420 he created a MiFi image on LEDE. You also have to reckon with the fact that the USB in this router may have problems with the LTE modem power supply and then the necessary active HUB. With a poor LTE signal, the modem consumes a lot of current and the USB in this router does not work out, it breaks the connection. Overall, the set is weak and problematic.

Although maybe I praised myself too early ... Internet works but after some time it starts to lose packets until the modem is reconnected. Previously, this is what I had in my computer, it ran about 5 minutes and lost packets until I put it back in the USB socket. When loading any page, the ping jumps up to 2,000, the range is about 3/5 bars. The modem is very warm (I don't know if it should be like that).

With a poor LTE signal, the modem works with high power, hence it gets warm. Another thing is the USB power supply on the MR-3420, USB is not good. MR-3420 is a weak router for LTE modem support, little memory, weaker processor. Overall, it works better with HiLinks and this alternative FW. But he has problems with the modem and simultaneous work on WiFi. What is the location, what operator, do you use LTE, in what band, how far to the BTS? Signal parameters in bars do not say anything, do you use an external antenna?

Topic summary

The discussion revolves around configuring the Tp-Link TL-MR3420 router to work with the Alcatel OneTouch L850V modem for T-Mobile internet access. Users report issues with modem recognition and packet loss during internet use. A solution involves installing alternative firmware (FW) on the MR-3420, specifically LEDE or Gargoyle, to improve compatibility with the modem. Users are advised to ensure adequate power supply to the modem via an active USB hub due to potential power issues from the router's USB port. The performance of the setup is affected by LTE signal strength, with recommendations for external antennas if necessary.
