Okay, can I use an on-on or off-on button as a switch for the power supply? Is there a difference?

It is supposed to start the power supply. Which one can I apply to it?

And if I used ON-ON, I wouldn't run the power supply?

Oh, I see you still don't get it. In short - if you wrongly connect the cables to the ON-ON switch, you will not start it, if you connect it well, you will start it.

Look again what the differences are:

You can use any of them as long as you connect well.
The ON / Off buttons are a bit cheaper.

Topic summary

✨ The discussion centers on the differences between ON-ON and OFF-ON switch contact configurations. ON-ON switches allow for two active states, while OFF-ON switches have one active state and one inactive state. Users provided examples and images to illustrate these configurations, highlighting that ON-ON is typically used for SPDT (Single Pole Double Throw) applications, whereas OFF-ON is used for SPST (Single Pole Single Throw) applications. The conversation also addressed the suitability of these switches for powering devices, with emphasis on correct wiring to ensure functionality. It was noted that ON-ON switches could potentially start a power supply if connected properly, while OFF-ON switches are generally more straightforward and less expensive.
