Hello, I have a question for experts on the topic of multimedia switchboards, if the topic should be placed elsewhere, please move it.

I want to install a multimedia box in a single-family house, in which I can put all the accessories I need.

The box must be flush-sized, which will fit: router, multiswitch TV, recorder for recording with HDD from what colleagues in the previous topic wrote is also some patch panel and other necessary things like power sockets, maybe some ups.

The following cables will enter and exit the switchboard:

    1) 9 antenna cables, it will be divided into 6 rooms where TV sets will be used (which multiswitch should be used so that it can also record another channel while watching)

    2) there will be 6 external IP cameras via twisted pair (including one from the IP video intercom)

    3) 15 points (sockets) in rooms and rooms to connect to the network (router).

I would like to get a hint from you in which box I could fit it all I was thinking about the multimedia switchboard but they are usually 10 cm deep, the rack boxes too deep again because the wall is about 25 cm.

Would it be possible to mount such equipment sideways in a switchboard with a 10 cm plate ???

Is it better to take a deeper box? I found one 20 cm deep

How about ventilation of such a concealed box? if it has holes in the door, is it enough to give some fan extracting heat accumulated there.

This will be my first multimedia switchboard so I am asking for all tips on how I should do it (combine it) so that everything is fine.

    Hello,

If you have so little space and there is no possibility of installation elsewhere, then buy a maximum deep box that you can mount, here you have several sample installations:
Flush-Mounted Multimedia Box: Housing Router, TV Multiswitch, HDD Recorder & Patch Panel
Flush-Mounted Multimedia Box: Housing Router, TV Multiswitch, HDD Recorder & Patch Panel
Flush-Mounted Multimedia Box: Housing Router, TV Multiswitch, HDD Recorder & Patch Panel

Now there will be a problem of air recirculation, because each device will blow in a different direction, here it may not be too interesting and the devices from below will heat those at the top.
I will also add that the recorder probably has a hard / hard disk (almost all), which when working in a standing position can shorten its life. + cameras will be powered from PoE Switch ???, which heat quite well, 6 cameras, so the switch can have even over 300W + 5-10W router + recorder? W and others = you can reach up to several hundred W = hot.

According to me, this is bad practice, but if there is no other solution, you have to combine.

Bad practice in terms of putting everything in one box?
If so, I could divide it into two smaller only what dimensions should they be so that it does not turn out to be too small.
I also thought about fans extracting warm air, possibly supply and exhaust

There will be a problem with it. Do you have a garage or a basement in a single-family home?

I've already let the cable shears into the storage space under the stairs because it is practically the center of the house and it will be easy for me to divide it into rooms

I would do anything in the basement or garage. If you have it under the stairs then you can mount a small rack cabinet. Send pics. where it's supposed to be easier to advise.

Alternatively, as you mentioned, install fans or do not install the door.

As for network devices, patch panels and multiswitch in this cabinet. But unfortunately the camera recorder should be mounted horizontally on a shelf

And the standard depth of the recorder how much it has because I saw some in the mini version

What company do you have or will these IP cameras be? 6 pieces is a recorder for 8 cameras. One of the cheaper Hikvision DS-7608NI-K2 has dimensions 385 × 315 × 52.

But we know that you want IP cameras. And these are enough to connect best to Poe switch. You can use the recorder or record it e.g. to NAS.
On the other hand, we have 21 cables, why as many as 15 will go to the rooms? This is probably a huge house? It is with such an area that I would do it in the garage and preferably the basement. If you are under construction it is worth changing it

House 180 m around 15 cables for rooms because despite the wifi these days I also want to have a cable.
E.g. to living room 3 (tv, receiver with internet radio, ps console)
To the kitchen 1, to the alarm 1, garage 1, up to four tv or 4 + still some sockets free is something about these 15 will come out.
I want to do it under the stairs because it is the middle of the house and sections of antenna cables to the switchboard from the antenna and the rooms will not have to be colossal in length and it will be hardly visible behind closed doors.
In addition, I have already carved a furrow in the wall where I released two 47 mm pipes to let the cables from the attic into this box, then with cables I will go to the attic again and spread it over the attic floor to the rooms

I have already bought the box to which I gave links earlier, as it turns out too small I will add something next to it.
I looked at the recorders and they are large because of the space for HDD.
Some people do not recommend giving the recorder sideways but there are also opinions that it does not affect the life of the HDD.
Something I can do maybe put everything in this box with time it turns out

What inbox did you purchase? I am currently looking for a flat to rent. Under 4tv and 4 lan the one from photo 2 is cool and the last one knows what dimensions?

I bought the one 20 cm deep, I mentioned that I bought it.
It remains to be seen whether it is enough but not so soon because the condition of the house is not yet suitable for living :-)
