    Hello.
We have computers working on old DOS programs.
Computers work on XP and everything works there.
Unfortunately, we are now forced (implementing other programs) to switch to 7 PRO and 10 PRO wines. It doesn't work there (I checked).
We must have the functionality of both systems (7 and 10 for the new program) and support for DOS programs provided by XP.

On my computer (10 pro) for testing I installed hyper-v and XP on it - old programs work.
The downside of this is that you also need to have a license for XP and I assumed that computers (most, not all, because a few pieces will only have a system change) with XP will be used in other parts of the company (the rest is the OEM license) so the system follows the hardware and I don't have time off.

I do not know about Windows Server 2016 but maybe you can use it somehow since such a change appeared in the company.
I thought that it could be possible to run hyper-v on it with one xp somehow remotely connect to it (remote desktop) but it seems that Xp does not allow simultaneous login of several users, so no good idea.
Some DOS box I tested earlier and unfortunately I put out printing (LPT).

Can you tell me how to bite the topic?

Virtual machine and MSDOS in it? It makes no sense to install XP only to use its command line.

VirtualBox is also nice, distributed under the free GNU license - unless you need an ExtensionPack that has a separate license.
It is worth taking a look at the DOS replacement - FreeDOS. It may be more willing to act than Microsoft antiquity.
