    Hey!

Recently, I started working as an industrial automation. My duties include design (selection of protections, controllers, sensors, drives, motors and their programming and parameterization), commissioning and servicing of created production lines.

I wonder what are the real profit margins for people experienced in industrial automation?
The work was very interesting for me, but it was just as good for me to design electrical installations (in college I tried to lick out every industry, I'm an electrical engineer by profession with the specialty of power electronics).

I wonder what in the future, assuming I would be an experienced and a good specialist, would give me more money? Work as an automation engineer or electrical installation designer?

    Greetings.

Your job is worth as much as you will pay for it and you will do it.

There is a taboo on this forum, no one will give you a specific fork, only such truisms as above.

And a friend will write how much he earns? There are no bits available on the net, and everyone concludes the contracts with potential employers

Hello, there is a portal somewhere where you give some data and shows your earnings in the country, age, education, etc. according to this, mine are in the upper group, supposedly as much as I earn only about 20%, I will only say that I earn a lot above the national average

    No experience: 1.5k-2.5k
    A year, two experiments: 2,5k-4,5k

    Friends:
The main UR factory automation about 8-12k
Robotic at the factory with> 5 years of experience 5-7k

    (everything in net)

What about this taboo on the forum, what's wrong with revealing your earnings anonymously? I still understand that you should not reveal your earnings at work, because it can create unnecessary conflicts. But here, anonymously on the forum, where you can help estimate someone's expected earnings or what to say in the interview - I do not understand.

    Hello

I have a question about how education translates into earnings? Do engineers earn more than people without studies at UR?

@advent_child Are these earnings also for technicians?

    greetings

The importance of having more skills than learning is really true. "Ing." it certainly opens up opportunities in corporations, in smaller companies it also probably influences earnings but it is hard to estimate to what extent. I did not meet, for example, any non-engineer designer.
As to the above earnings yes. Immediately after technical school I went to the integrator company for the lowest domestic, with the time I got higher, but not big enough to match my friends what went to UR factory for 2.5k net for the start. Now the engineer is working day and weekend, working in the same company as I worked at the technical school with a nicer rate, almost two times higher than my colleagues from UR.

The market is already working so slowly that people are calling for 3k or more.
Automataków less and less tendency is such that in big cities everything sucks the IT market (many PLC programmers will be retrained, after graduation people immediately go to IT).
Quieter, cleaner work, fewer delegations, more remote work.
Changeover engineers in UR from one of the leading car manufacturers reportedly earn 6k - 7k.
PLC programmers on a full-time basis at local integrators also more or less within these limits also have a slow ceiling of their base.
Of course, if you make overtime on the object, you can hit the 10k somewhere.
On your own, as an experienced programmer, you will probably earn between 100 - 150 per hour. But this is already associated with other "pleasures" such as moving projects and so on.
    greetings

Topic summary

The discussion revolves around the earnings potential of professionals in industrial automation, specifically comparing Automation Engineers and Electrical Installation Designers. Participants express the difficulty in obtaining specific salary figures due to a cultural taboo against sharing earnings. General insights suggest that entry-level Automation Engineers can earn between 1.5k-2.5k, while those with experience can earn significantly more, with some reporting figures as high as 10k for overtime work. The importance of education and skills is emphasized, with engineers generally earning more than non-engineers.
