    Hello .

Recently I rode and the oil lamp started to blink and disappeared and every now and then appeared I arrived home and thought that little oil but the oil was exchanged this month but instinctively I poured in and the same blinked and ceased and looked at the bayonet and shed oil this colleague I sucked as much as I need to make the level good and I was happy because I traveled somewhere 25 km and nothing lit up when I arrived home and I was apologized to the mud and gassed the car for one to 4 thousand turns the light again started to blink and squeak I drove into the garage, I extinguished the car, fired again the control simply disappeared I opened the mask I irritated the oil level and is okay later I gassed the engine at ease and the control did not ignite and I bet that tomorrow as somewhere I will go again squeak strange thing really. My car is Seat Ibiza 1.2 2006. I am asking for some reasonable advice because I do not want to throw away money at the mechanic for free to exchange something and then it happened :D . greetings

I bet on the imminent death of an oil pump. With luck, you only have a problem with the oil sensor, but I would not be an optimist. Instead of foreseeing, visit a mechanic before you break the engine.

After all, you have to measure the oil pressure ... Without this a strict prohibition to start the engine, and you are to head off and ride. You probably destroyed the engine.

There is one trifle, cars from the vag group, the oil pressure measurement are only done for 2 thousand rpm, i.e. the engine without oil is fired and kept at 2 o'clock, it will seize without igniting the oil pressure gauge.

Well, there is nothing else to do but go to the pressure measurement to the mechanic as soon as possible

I did not know just what the effects might be but I have a quiet hope that it is not a pump :D

The subject to close the cause of this fault was the oil pressure sensor from which the oil leaked. If someone has a problem with this and will read this post, the control light went on after driving about 20 km and it ignited and disappeared all the time. greetings

Topic summary

The discussion revolves around a 2006 Seat Ibiza 1.2 experiencing intermittent oil lamp blinking, squealing noises, and engine stopping. Initial troubleshooting included checking the oil level, which was deemed adequate after a recent oil change. Responses suggest potential causes such as a failing oil pump or oil pressure sensor issues. It is advised to measure oil pressure before further engine operation to prevent damage. Ultimately, the problem was identified as a leaking oil pressure sensor, which caused the warning light to activate after driving approximately 20 km.
