    Welcome,
Some time ago I was ejected coolant from the tank, yesterday I changed the tank, earlier the plug and flooded the new liquid, it turned out that the radiator fan does not turn on at a given temperature (probably 97-98 degrees Celsius), it was checked for a short time and works, turns . Attached are several photos with the description. I found out that I have two temperature sensors, one in the radiator, the other one behind the thermostat. In the hidden menu as I was driving today the temperature went up nicely like on the clock behind the wheel but the menu was already 95 and more and even 101 (as I stood 100-101, when I was driving 96-97, the fan did not turn on) and on the clock no more than 90-91, apparently this sensor in the radiator could have fallen, do you think? And the second sensor behind the thermostat is responsible for what? For opening him? On the photos I marked where the sensors are, but I'm not sure about the radiator, please correct and help. Greetings.
Ps. unfortunately the familiar mechanic is closed until Monday, so I drive only short routes, for a long time I am afraid that it will heat up and it will crash again: /, Fuses from the fan are ok, there is 1 fan.

I read, I still have a few questions.
    1. From which sensor does the signal go to hand from the temperature on the clocks and from which to the temperature in the hidden menu ?? How to determine it
    2. Why in the hidden menu is the spor temperature higher than on the clocks, as you can see in the photos on the clock is 90st and in Menu 101 even. Why is this happening ??

Hello, both temperature sensors in this engine are connected directly to the engine controller. They are two because they control the operation of the thermostat which is also controlled by ecu (it is not true that one is for the fan and the other for the ecu counter etc.). Unfortunately, the temperature on the counter does not show actual engine temperature only calculated and this engine usually has about 100 to 105 degrees in normal operation (pressure system so everything is ok - the engine is to be warmed up to eliminate emissions) and why the meter shows a lower temperature - that's how it should be. This is best seen in Astra and Insignia where the counter shows how killed 90 degrees and in fact the temperature is swimming well.

In that case, I have to replace both to be sure and count that the fan will turn on ?? I hope that these are not any modules, relays and other spells.

The sensor switching on the fan is in the radiator, besides what problem to check the sensor?

How to check it after dialing is it ok?

It's best on tech or mdi to check the data list and everything will be clear ..

My friend's computer was not found, due to lack of time tomorrow I replace the sensor in the radiator in the morning. I noticed that after switching on the air conditioner, the fan switches on periodically, so when I am in traffic jams I have to ride the climate, then the temperature drops :)

Added after 17 [hours] 55 [minutes]:

I replaced the sensor in the radiator today, pouring slightly (on a cold engine, unscrewed the old one, clogged the hole with a finger and screwed in a new one, the screw to screw in was of a different size than the previous sensor), refilled a little liquid, heated up the car and in the hidden menu at 101-102 degrees C fan turns on, I do not want to come in but I hope it will be okay, because when at the station they changed my fluid and checked the fan, I do not even know at what temperature, I have to ask them out of pure curiosity. I don't remember the temperature to which I previously warmed up to the maximum, I was afraid to check or maybe it was good? I don't know myself anymore, the fact is ok for now. In addition, even turning on the klime turns on the fan and this way you can also save yourself in traffic jams like something.

At a standstill at 2 thousand rev, the fan turns on at 101-102st, when I go and observe the hidden menu, I see that from 99 and falls down so it switches on earlier, later at a standstill without gassing it reached 105st and the fan cooled down. There is probably no constant temperature at which the fan starts? Or maybe it depends on the turnover etc.?

Hello after a long break. Today I had a strange situation, in general I drive a lot lately and everything is ok, but today was the case that in the long route the light from the coolant level on the highway came on, of course I had the worst thoughts. All the time I had a preview of the temperature in the hidden menu and everything was normal, i.e. 98-99 degrees, but sometimes it was also 105 and was just going down. I went to the station to look under the hood, the fluid was clearly about 1cm more or less (for a few days I did not look there so I do not know if it has disappeared at this time or gradually over these 4-6 days). I started the car again and went on the route, the indicator did not come on again (maybe the float somehow hung), then the temp sometimes rose to 107 degrees and fell and sometimes it was 102-103 and also fell, so I don't know why with different values so cools. The clock hand on the board also leaned slightly above 90 degrees. I have such a trauma for the fact that I even think about selling a car, however, I feel sorry for him, because everything done in it, among others, gearbox, timing, springs, etc.: /. There must be some rational reason for this phenomenon, that the fluid has run out again, I was riding the air conditioning a bit, maybe something with this pattern? Maybe there was an airbag and the system vented very well and was gone? Anyone can write something about it ???

    Added after 5 [minutes]:

Ps is still a phenomenon that when the car is warm when I tilt the tank down towards the bumper, you can hear the pressure drop ..... but I don't know through the cork or other place (with the previous tank it was the same), unless the cork itself he should do it because it has such a structure.

Topic summary

The discussion revolves around a 2006 Opel Vectra C with a Z18XER engine experiencing issues with the radiator fan not activating at the expected temperature of 97-98 degrees Celsius. The user replaced the coolant tank and noted discrepancies between the temperature readings on the dashboard and the hidden menu, where the latter showed higher temperatures (up to 101 degrees Celsius). It was clarified that both temperature sensors are connected to the engine control unit (ECU) and that the dashboard gauge does not reflect the actual engine temperature accurately. The user was advised to check the radiator sensor, which is responsible for activating the fan. After replacing the radiator sensor, the fan began to operate correctly at higher temperatures. However, the user later reported fluctuating coolant levels and temperature readings during driving, raising concerns about potential coolant loss or sensor accuracy.
