    Hello colleagues!

Some time ago, the left dipped beam stopped working. I will add that I bought the car after the accident in the front and in the left lamp condensation collects, which is something that is prone and is very leaky. On the board the error "Check left low beam light" (car in English version, driven only in England). I checked fuses, 49 and 50 - both good. I bought a new bulb D1S, after the exchange still unchanged. I thought maybe the bulb is incompatible so I put it in the working lamp and the bulb is lit. I have a mechanic friend but it is about 180km away. I went to him for the diagnosis of the problem and it turned out that after the error was cleared by OBD2, the error did not return and the bulb began to shine. He deleted me like a little but it went out all day because London traffic jams etc ..
After 2 days (tonight) it ceased to shine again. I disconnected the battery for 3-4 minutes, no change. I tried to find and clear the error with several hand-held OBD2 scanners but they don't even see it. I know that I must finally take this lamp seriously and bring it to order, but now I do 6 nights under government at work and I just don't have a time.
I have VCDS Lite + blue OBD2 cable installed on my laptop but I don't think Opel will get VCDS? Could someone lead me to the right way about software that clears such an error?
I wrote a little ... but I wanted to describe the problem from scratch. I hope I haven't got too much money.

To the esteemed group - if you think that I should start this thread in the beginner section, I am asking for transfer, I was simply not sure.

I have bought equipment called OP-COM today. I bought a Chinese counterfeit because that's all I have access to. Will OP-COM clear the above error?

You should delete it without any problem.

You won't do much in Insignia OP-COM. But as you have already bought, you will see, maybe you will just connect with the lights.
In Opel, if the light bulb gets short-circuited, the system will fail. Even in the rear lamps in the Astra J they made such a number. "The customer comes to replace the bulb, and you jump out with the computer ;) "
You have converters to replace / repair, and the lamp to seal (better not try it yourself). It is better to start working, because maybe you can still save the inverter

    Thanks for the answers.
Ptr92 as soon as I finish the night and I have a few days off I will give the lamp to seal.

Unfortunately, the bulb could not be brought back into operation.
OP-COM showed the following errors after prompting:
Opel Insignia Elite 2.0 - Error of Left Light Bulb Low Beam Xenon (reset)

After the errors are cleared, the lights level nicely, the left bulb is still dark and one error remains:

Opel Insignia Elite 2.0 - Error of Left Light Bulb Low Beam Xenon (reset)

As soon as I have time, I will remove the bumper and swap the lamps, I hope it will narrow the search a bit. Anyone have any suggestions yet?

After quite a long crossing we got to the heart of the problem. The converter was filled with water and is obviously out of order. In addition, the whole lamp is very leaky and had about 0.75 liters of water at the bottom, so that there was nothing to see when the bumper was fitted.
A short video showing the residual water in the inverter:

I don't know how it worked a few days ago ...
The inverter part number is 5DV00972000. I wonder if any replacement will fit e.g. 5DV00961000? Anyone have any idea about this and can comment? I have better access to 5DV00961000 than to 5DV00972000.
Of course, I will have to seal the lamp, because history will repeat itself quickly as I put in a new converter .. Is it worth trying to do it yourself, or rather look for a specialist, if such exist at all?

    Buy with the same number.
    Give someone to seal.

I bought these cheaper converters with a different number and sealed the lamp alone in the garage. I found the holes by connecting a pump from the mattress to one of the lamp holes and blocking all other air outlets. Later, I lightly lubricated the lamp with water for washing dishes (foam) mixed with water and marked where the cracks were. I glued the holes with the hot gun glue, and after drying, I covered everything with a good layer of good silicone.
    It's been several months ...
The car is in constant use in a rather rainy and wet country and the lamp is dry for now. The inverter works flawlessly so the topic is closed.

Topic summary

The discussion revolves around a malfunctioning left low beam xenon light in an Opel Insignia Elite 2.0, which was exacerbated by water condensation in the lamp due to prior accident damage. The user initially replaced the bulb (D1S) and checked fuses but continued to receive an error message. After using an OP-COM diagnostic tool, the error was cleared temporarily, but the light failed again. Further investigation revealed that the converter was filled with water, leading to its failure. The user sought advice on whether a different part number for the inverter would be compatible and discussed DIY sealing methods for the lamp. Ultimately, a successful repair was achieved by sealing the lamp and replacing the inverter with a cheaper alternative.
