Go ahead and take the S8 because it is a very successful and cool model whose advantage is a battery that can last a full two days with fairly intensive use. The camera is in a class of its own and is also quite resistant to falls. :)

How about the S8 with this pink screen problem? Does it happen often?

Can phones from European distribution, which can be bought on a well-known auction site, be bought without fear? They are much cheaper on the other. For example (auction number 7009826077)

If you try to see this rose by force, you will even notice it on a purple sweater. I watched my mother-in-law S8 and this effect does not occur. However, for example in A5 2016, I see pink on a white background, when I am under the lighting of fluorescent lamps. In my opinion, you have nothing to worry about.

As for the "occasion", my friend @ tino2003 devoted a separate topic in the section to it.

I have read about these "occasions". It will be better to buy used with warranty.

What to look for when buying a used Samsung S8 / S8 +? Apart from possible damage, scratches to the device itself

What it looks like with redeemed phones with network branding without simlock. Can the network somehow block it?

Do not buy with tmobile and plus because these networks block phones for not paying the subscription. Search with play or orange with an invoice of 23% because this is the only one that Samsung honors with a warranty.

The first is from European distribution, there is no mention of invoice, there will be only one warranty repair at best. The second auction is ok, you have the warranty card with invoice (documents style for orange). Even if these are phones from Polish distribution, more and more often the services check the warranty status after imei, without using the documentation. But you can go for this European distribution in this case.

I found out that it adds an original Orange invoice to each phone. The phone is from the Polish Orange store.
    Auction okay?

FAQ

TL;DR: For camera-first buyers, pick Galaxy S8; users report up to 2 days of battery life. “Camera is in a class of its own.” [Elektroda, tino2003, post #16847582]

Why it matters: This FAQ helps shoppers compare Galaxy S8, Mi Mix 2, and Mi 6, and buy safely with warranty proof.

Quick Facts

Which is best for social media and photos: Galaxy S8, Mi Mix 2, or Mi 6?

Choose Galaxy S8 if camera quality matters most. A user calls its camera “in a class of its own,” and reports strong battery life. For Instagram, Snapchat, and general apps, S8’s camera and endurance give it the edge over Mi Mix 2 and Mi 6 at this budget. [Elektroda, tino2003, post #16847582]

Is the Galaxy S8 pink screen issue common?

Community feedback indicates the pink tint is not typical on the S8 units checked. One user saw pink on a different model (A5 2016) under fluorescent lighting, not on the S8. “You have nothing to worry about.” Test displays in-store under varied lighting if concerned. [Elektroda, beo, post #16916124]

What budget did the original poster set for these phones?

The buyer targeted about PLN 2400 and wanted a device with a 5-inch or larger display. This aligns with the S8, Mi Mix 2, and Mi 6 segment at the time. The usage focus was social media and internet apps. [Elektroda, Grzenio8595, post #16847006]

How does S8 battery life hold up day to day?

A forum user reports the S8 can last a full two days with fairly intensive use. That endurance suits heavy social and messaging workloads. Always check real usage patterns, brightness, and signal conditions, as they affect results. [Elektroda, tino2003, post #16847582]

Should I worry about buying phones from European distribution?

It can be fine with proper documentation. Services often verify warranty status by IMEI, even if the box says European distribution. Listings that include a valid invoice and warranty card are preferable for support. [Elektroda, gracjan55, post #16929465]

Do I need the original carrier invoice for warranty?

A warranty card plus invoice is ideal. Many services check IMEI for warranty eligibility, but having documents streamlines claims. An auction that clearly provides these documents is considered OK. [Elektroda, gracjan55, post #16929465]

Can a carrier block a branded phone even if it’s sold without SIM‑lock?

Yes. Phones tied to unpaid contracts can be blocked by the carrier later. Advice from the thread: avoid T‑Mobile and Plus units; prefer Play or Orange with a 23% VAT invoice for warranty purposes. [Elektroda, gracjan55, post #16929243]

What should I check when buying a used Galaxy S8/S8+?

Confirm warranty via IMEI, and ensure the seller provides a matching invoice and warranty card. European distribution units may still receive service if IMEI shows valid coverage. Inspect for damage, and verify accessories match the listing. [Elektroda, gracjan55, post #16929465]

Is there a simple checklist to validate warranty before paying?

How‑To:
  1. Ask the seller for the IMEI and confirm warranty status matches their claim.
  2. Verify the invoice (with VAT) lists the exact IMEI and seller details.
  3. Confirm distribution (Polish/EU) aligns with stated warranty terms. [Elektroda, gracjan55, post #16929465]

Any real purchase outcomes from this discussion?

Yes. The original poster bought a phone sealed with the original manufacturer’s seal and received the original invoice plus manufacturer warranty. That result supports buying when documentation is complete. [Elektroda, Grzenio8595, post #16938828]

If camera quality is my top priority, is S8 a safer bet than Mi Mix 2/Mi 6?

Yes. Community feedback highlights the S8 camera quality as a standout. One user states, “camera is in a class of its own,” supporting the S8 for photography and social media. [Elektroda, tino2003, post #16847582]

What’s the key risk when buying carrier-branded bargains?

Edge case: a device may be later blocked for unpaid bills by the original contract holder. Prioritize units with clear invoices from Play or Orange and avoid T‑Mobile/Plus stock to reduce this risk. [Elektroda, gracjan55, post #16929243]
