Hello, I'm planning to buy a tester for home use that would be useful for diagnosis and simple repairs in the garage, and for burning DPF. I was searching the internet and I found nothing else for a price of up to PLN 1,000. I am interested in how this miracle actually works and whether it really has an efficient DPF firing function, and whether it provides any DPF parameters, e.g. differential pressure, filling. The device will be used primarily on Skoda Octavia 2 FL 1.6TDI. What is burning in this tester? Is it firing at a standstill or while driving?

Can you write something more about him? time license? What car brands can it support? and what model exactly to buy? is it complicated about service?

    Added after 47 [minutes]:

and what do you say about it:
    NEW CDP + PRO 3in1 ver. 2017 NEC GW12M + 8 Adapters at Allegro price PLN 960

1.6tdi burns beautifully even at a standstill, it has ~ 1000rpm. You just don't quench it, it finishes slowing down and finto. For diagnostics of the vag group, simply buy vas, vag, etc.

And I was thinking about such equipment. I don't have a temporary license, it updates itself. Over 60 brands of passenger cars and over 30 trucks. Equipment is the best for me. Expensive but expense for years.

0.6 -0.7 is with me, you can see that burns out after revolutions. When it burns it turns on the fans for a moment and end.

Of course, all CDP + clones are, the software is the same, it makes cars until 2014, it has different versions (one or two discs and of course the quality of assembly and components). Universal scanner for personal buses and TIRs.

and is it worth investing in such a clone? no problems with them? They work just like the original ones, e.g. do some functions in the software not work? And if it's worth it, which one will be the best? from what I've read, I already know that double-disc with Japanese relays, but maybe some specific models are worth attention?

As I wrote, there are two models, it all depends on the assembly and quality of parts, with warranty and after the case. As for operation, if everything is good, they work comparable to the original, the limitation is also soft until 2014. You can also search the portals of the yellow Launch Easydiag full version X431 at a similar price to 1 thousand.

Thanks for the information, I have one more question, not so directly about the heads but related to the subject (I think) it is about OBD2 codes. Namely, I am thinking of making a simple on-board computer that would communicate via OBD2 and display various information. Through some codes I was able to receive information, but unfortunately not all work. I suspect that manufacturers just change them and to get information you need to know "hidden" PID codes. Is there a chance to know the codes for:
temperatures: turbine, DPF and oil; RPM for the turbine; state of filling DPF; data from DPF pressure sensors could be useful; fuel level in the tank. Perhaps someone has already tried to listen to communication, e.g. Wireshark, between the computer and the head?

You have a bup headup plugged into the diagnostic socket. Or on a cell phone

I have already watched these devices and they do not meet my expectations, with software. on the phone is a little better but they also lack the functions I am looking for

FAQ

TL;DR: On Octavia 2 1.6 TDI, forced DPF regen can run at ~1000 rpm; an expert notes it “burns beautifully even at a standstill.” [Elektroda, andrzej20001, post #16987140]

Quick Facts

Can the Skoda Octavia 2 1.6 TDI perform a stationary DPF regeneration?

Yes. Users report the 1.6 TDI completes forced regeneration while idling around 1000 rpm. Do not shut it off mid-process; let revs drop to normal when finished. “Burns beautifully even at a standstill.” [Elektroda, andrzej20001, post #16987140]

Should I stop a regeneration early if I’m short on time?

No. Avoid interrupting a regen. The advice is to not quench the engine; allow the cycle to finish and idle to return to normal. Premature shutdown risks incomplete soot oxidation. [Elektroda, andrzej20001, post #16987140]

What instant fuel consumption should I expect during idle regen?

Expect approximately 0.6–0.7 l/h indicated during an idle regeneration. The cooling fans may switch on briefly, then turn off when the process completes. [Elektroda, andrzej20001, post #16989409]

How do I trigger and monitor an idle DPF regen on 1.6 TDI?

  1. Connect a VAG-capable tool (e.g., VAS/VAG) and start the service regen.
  2. Keep the engine idling; target is about 1000 rpm.
  3. Wait until revs settle and fans cycle; do not shut off early. [Elektroda, andrzej20001, post #16987140]

Is FOXWELL NT510 required, or should I use VAS/VCDS for VAG cars?

Thread advice favors VAG-native tooling (VAS/VAG) for diagnostics and service tasks on the Octavia 2. This ensures access to brand-specific functions like DPF service procedures. [Elektroda, andrzej20001, post #16987140]

Are Autocom/Delphi CDP tools a good long-term buy under PLN 1,000?

One user calls the equipment “best for me,” noting it self-updates, lacks a temporary license, and supports 60+ car brands and 30+ trucks. It’s pricier, but seen as a years-long expense. [Elektroda, Boryc2014, post #16987211]

What model years do CDP+ clones typically support?

According to user reports, CDP+ clone software generally covers vehicles up to about the 2014 model-year. These are universal scanners for passenger cars and trucks. [Elektroda, leonov, post #16989479]

What should I look for when buying a CDP+ clone?

Quality varies by assembly and components. Choose units sold with a warranty. Some buyers prefer double-board designs with Japanese relays. Software remains the limiting factor. [Elektroda, leonov, post #16990042]

Is there a Launch X431 option near PLN 1,000?

Yes. A suggested alternative is the yellow Launch Easydiag X431 (full version) around PLN 1,000, offering broad brand coverage at a similar price. [Elektroda, leonov, post #16990042]

Will budget tools read DPF metrics like differential pressure or soot load?

The thread seeks these parameters but recommends VAG-specific tools for VAG cars. Use VAS/VAG-class software to access brand-specific DPF data reliably. [Elektroda, andrzej20001, post #16987140]

Can I build my own OBD2 computer to read DPF temps and soot load?

Expect gaps using only standard PIDs. The OP notes some PIDs don’t work and suspects OEM “hidden” PIDs. Custom readers need those proprietary codes to show DPF temps or soot load. [Elektroda, jarek~~, post #16992272]

Is a phone app or plug-in HUD a workable display for basics?

Yes. A user suggests a plug-in head-up display or a smartphone app via the diagnostic port for simple readouts. Feature depth varies by app. [Elektroda, andrzej20001, post #16992901]

What’s a quick sign that regen is ending at idle?

Users observed the cooling fans may come on briefly during the cycle, then shut off, and idle speed returns to normal when finished. [Elektroda, andrzej20001, post #16989409]

What is VAS/VCDS in this context?

These are diagnostic tools for VW-Audi Group vehicles. The thread advises buying VAS/VAG-class tools for accurate VAG diagnostics and service functions. [Elektroda, andrzej20001, post #16987140]

What is CAN bus?

Controller Area Network (CAN) is a robust vehicle network standard that lets control units communicate without a central computer. It underpins OBD-II data exchange. “CAN bus”
