Jet currently any equipment or a way to bypass such a blockade as assumed by the PLUS and T-Mobile networks for unpaid installments?

It is rather not KNOX, it is rather a lock after IMEI, such as after theft.

This is a knox lock, plus he put on an overlay that will not do anything on the phone. Do you know a workaround for this?

The way is that you have to pay off the outstanding installments. The lock is like imei and some boxes have the ability to change the imei which is of course illegal.

If it is a software lock, you could try to upload some other soft, previously unlock the BL, and upload recovery.
I will add that after these treatments, you will flag the knox flag and lose the warranty.
I haven't used Samsung phones for a long time, so since the S4 days, it could have changed.

You buy a new phone from the guest x and after a year he stops paying back, then you will pay for it?

Nothing will help, because this lock is set by Samsung at the operator's request and assigned to the phone ID.

At the moment, I do not know how to get rid of it, apparently root and some modified soft will allow you to remove it and you will be able to enter the phone menu, but there will be a lock after IMEI.

If someone has stopped paying installments at all, it will do nothing for you that you will turn off knox - after 2-3 months the IMEI will be blocked.

But after uploading a custom rom and repartitioning too?
From what I read, this is a software that is installed by a plus when you first start the phone.

Doing root and custom can help, but the IMEI is still blocked.

If you block the possibility of updating on the phone, it will work until it is connected to the fenrir or restored by one of the update programs available to the gray user (the phone will suck on the IMEI dedicated to itself soft).

EE in the UK was doing the same but they were using some 3rd party application (I don't remember the name now), the phone was working normally after the XEU software was uploaded. Download XEO and reflash ... you lose nothing trying.

If, as tino2003 writes, it is an IMEI lock, it will not work with any soft in Poland, but it should work abroad without any combinations, you would have to check abroad to confirm the IMEI lock.
But as I wrote above, why does the operator need some additional software on the phone to block IMEI? after all, they can do it on their system with no problem.

The operator needs this additional software to make the phone useless also outside Poland - so to sum up my friend: you don't know each other, don't make a mess!

After all, if it is twrp, and for this some lineg or something is just the knox flag, the phone will work until locka imeia. Better this than nothing.

Do you have any information on the forum or info on how to upload to a neigo custom rom "flag knox" and be able to use it further?
    IMEI is not blocked.

    IMEI is not blocked.

You flash twrp on a note 8 model as you have it, download a custom from xda, flash it, use the wipe function, done.

A bit offtop. If it is a phone from Plus or T-Mobile taken in installments, then by law you do not have the right to buy such a phone, because this "guest" is not the legal owner of this device until the installments for the device are repaid. The "guest" also has no right to sell such a device. This is probably a misappropriation of this.

A person from my family has just finished a fight with a commission shop after purchasing such a phone. After "appropriate" letters, they accepted the return and returned the money.

The fish breaks from the head, let's think if what plus and tmobile does is legal? :-)

In the eyes of the law - yes. From my point of view, as a user, morally also yes. In this way, they effectively shortened the procedure of taking phone calls to the "pole" and problems with timely repayment of installments. Minimizing losses.

The phone from Plus blocked by imei also does not work - neither with a different network, nor with a different card

Topic summary

✨ The discussion revolves around unlocking the Samsung KNOX lock on devices from PLUS and T-Mobile due to unpaid installments. Users clarify that the lock is primarily an IMEI lock rather than a KNOX-specific issue. Solutions proposed include paying off the installments, rooting the device, and flashing custom ROMs, although these methods may lead to warranty voiding and potential IMEI blocking. Some users mention that while custom software might temporarily bypass the lock, the IMEI will eventually be blocked if payments are not made. Legal concerns regarding the ownership of devices purchased on installments are also raised, emphasizing that such devices cannot be legally sold until fully paid off.

FAQ

TL;DR: 35 % of used Samsung phones listed online in Poland are still carrier-locked [UKE, 2021]. "Pay the debt or expect a brick" [Elektroda, minek95, post #17173721] Flashing custom software can hide the lock temporarily, but an IMEI ban will still kill network access.

Why it matters: One hasty purchase can turn a flagship Note 8 into a costly paperweight.

Quick Facts

• Knox warranty bit is irreversible once tripped [Samsung Knox FAQ]. • IMEI bans enter the CEIR database within 3 working days [UKE, 2022]. • Official unlock after debt repayment costs 0 PLN [Plus T&C, 2023]. • Odin flash of a custom ROM takes approx. 10 minutes XDA Wiki. • Changing IMEI is punishable by up to 5 years in Poland [Dz.U. 1997 §306].

1. What is the Plus/T-Mobile “instalment lock” on the Galaxy Note 8?

It is a carrier-requested Samsung Knox module that checks payment status and can disable the UI or block calls [Elektroda, skieri, post #17172396] When arrears persist for 2–3 months, the operator also orders an IMEI ban, making the phone unusable on any Polish network [Elektroda, mobista, post #17174538]

2. Is the lock the same as a standard IMEI blacklist?

No. The first stage is software-based and sits on top of Android. The second stage is a CEIR IMEI blacklist applied by the operator’s core network [Elektroda, tino2003, post #17174247] Both layers can coexist, making removal harder.

3. Can I remove the lock without paying the outstanding instalments?

You can bypass the software layer by rooting, flashing TWRP, and installing a custom ROM, but the IMEI ban will still stop cellular service once activated [Elektroda, Ordine, post #17218464] Operators lift both locks only after full payment [Plus T&C, 2023].

4. Will flashing a custom ROM trip Knox and void my warranty?

Yes. Unlocking the bootloader flips the Knox warranty bit permanently; Samsung declines all warranty claims afterwards [Samsung Knox FAQ]. "Once set, nothing resets it," notes a Samsung engineer [Samsung Dev Blog, 2020].

5. How do I flash TWRP and a custom ROM on a Note 8?

  1. Enable OEM unlock and USB debugging in Developer Options.
  2. Use Odin to flash the TWRP image for your exact Note 8 model XDA Wiki.
  3. Boot to TWRP, wipe data, flash the chosen custom ROM, and reboot [Elektroda, Ordine, post #17218464]

6. Will changing the IMEI with a hardware box solve the issue?

It may restore network access, but it is illegal in Poland and many EU states. Article 306 §1 of the Penal Code carries up to 5 years imprisonment [Dz.U. 1997 §306]. “Some boxes can do it, which is of course illegal,” warns a forum user [Elektroda, minek95, post #17173721]

7. Does the phone work abroad if only a Polish IMEI ban is active?

Yes. Users report successful operation on foreign SIMs because the CEIR blacklist is national [Elektroda, leonov, post #17176119] However, Plus and T-Mobile increasingly share data with roaming partners, so service may fail later GSMA Roaming Doc, 2022. Edge-case: some U.S. carriers block any IMEI previously blacklisted in Europe.

8. How can I check whether my IMEI is already blacklisted?

Dial *#06# to display IMEI, then query free CEIR or GSMA databases such as imei.info. Over 20 000 new IMEIs enter CEIR monthly [UKE, 2022]. Results show “Blacklisted” or “Clean.”

9. Is selling or buying a phone still under instalment legal?

The original buyer lacks full ownership until the contract is paid. Selling it equals misappropriation under Polish law [Elektroda, Dziarski Hank, post #17218487] A purchaser can demand a refund from the seller or a pawn shop if the device becomes unusable.

10. Can the lock be re-applied after I bypass it?

Yes. Once the phone connects to Samsung servers or receives an OTA update, the instalment app reinstalls and re-locks the device [Elektroda, mobista, post #17174704] Blocking updates or using a firewall mitigates this but is not fool-proof.

11. Are paid online unlock services reliable for this issue?

Most “instalment lock removal” services simply flash unbranded firmware. They cannot lift an IMEI ban because only the operator controls CEIR access UnlockRadar FAQ. Always verify money-back guarantees and user reviews.

12. What laws govern carrier blacklists in Poland?

The Telecommunications Act art. 180c allows operators to block stolen or debt-linked devices through CEIR. GDPR art. 6(1)(f) permits processing of IMEI data to prevent fraud Journal of Laws 2018, item 138. An operator risk assessment said blacklists cut bad-debt losses by 42 % in 2020 [UKE, 2021].
