Hello. I have been struggling with the problem for several days. I watched tons of movies and half the internet. With no effect.
I have video files recorded in mp4. Movie maker loads them and I can work normally. I can save the movie as a copy of the project and as the final movie. The problem arose after closing the project and trying to open it. Maker loads the video files, but yellow triangles with an exclamation mark pop up. There is just the sound, the effects are superimposed but no image. It was a pity to lose it because I worked 10 hours on it. I cleared the registry, loaded the cccp codecs, then ACE and nothing. In a new project, individual files are reloaded and you can work on them. After saving and trying to open the project, the same thing again. I also tried to open up old movie projects that I did "at once" and saved the ending movie. Also, video files cannot be loaded properly.
I saved 1/3 of the affected project as a video file without any problem and continued working. The program stuck and there is no way I can load a saved state like a movie maker project. I tried to combine with running as admin and with compatibility modes - nothing. The movie lasts 8 minutes, but earlier it was possible to save movies after 12 minutes without any problems, but "at once" (without closing the program).

And how is it possible, a copy of the project, but as the final film? I don't get something.
Answer: Ending movie, i.e. save movie as

He doesn't understand again. If you close the project, you cannot restore it. You have to reload it into the program to restore it. The point is?
RIP. Openings, not recreations. Saves the project as a program file, close the program, then open it and try to load the saved project. Then, when loading files, errors appear as in the picture. Movie Maker Issue: Unable to Load Saved Project Files (MP4) - Yellow Triangles & No Image

It looks like it can't find the source files!
    ODP: Source files are located

Well, here, buddy, what you could've screwed up just did. Cleaning registries for a Windows program is nothing more than its destruction. Why? Because links to TMP files and links to source files are written in the registers! You install codecs, what for?
Answer: I cleaned the codec registers after removing them before installing new ones. This procedure boils down to the answers to this problem that I found on the internet. It turns out that the codecs are ok, after loading supposedly defective video files from the project, after reopening with programs and uploading a single video file from this project (subfile), it enters without any problems and works immediately, you do not even have to wait until it loads because it did moments earlier when trying to load the whole project.

This program is Microsoft, so whatever you do in the registries, you will release everything you can, especially under win10, but you didn't enter the system. Honestly, I read your post several times but I don't know how to understand it.
    Answer: yes win10

But I have suggestions to try. Personally, I used Movie Maker if I had recorded material from my computer's TV, and its fast processing (advertising crash) and I would not dare to use it in some other way, but take my project all the files and transfer it to another computer that has the same system, these the same version of the program and import it there, then you will know whether it is a program problem or errors in the system

I would like to use another program very much, but despite the fact that I have a one-year laptop, in other programs, the image is still stuck on the preview. I need a program that, like wmm, loads added files into memory for smooth playback while editing, and does not act as if in real time. Maybe you know a program that is stable and loads files into memory?

Have you tried OpenShot? It's probably so simple that your lapek should be able to handle it.
