Hello. I intend to buy a GPS GSM transmitter for my bike in the form of a rear lamp ;) What card to insert in it? I have to buy a telemetry card, will the most ordinary Orange card be enough? Because telemetry is expensive ;)

just buy a regular card, e.g. from orange, and ask at the point of sale to activate the telemetry tariff

Very cool, I just want to know why you need a telemetry card and why a normal one might not work? Telemetry would cost me too much, then I would know that it is not worth buying a GPS transmitter specifically for a bicycle, as it would cost me in the best case in the subscription PLN 120, as usual it costs PLN 5 a year :)

There will be a problem in the Play network because it changes transmitters between different networks. In the city it still works as well but outside of the city not all messages are received.
Depends on the transmitter or does it require a 2G signal?

I wrote that I have a card with Orange ;) I also wrote that it is a transmitter GSM . So it only supports 2G :)

So check the 2G coverage map for your operator and everything in the subject. You can confirm it by making a phone call to the service desk

As far as I know this telemetry card is not issued to a private person.
From experience I tell you how it is with GSM notification in SSWiN installations, I have a telemetry in the car.

Topic summary

The discussion revolves around the choice of a SIM card for a GPS GSM transmitter designed as a rear lamp for a bicycle. The user inquires whether a standard Orange card suffices or if a telemetry card is necessary, given the high costs associated with telemetry services. Responses suggest that a regular Orange card can be used, provided the telemetry tariff is activated. Concerns are raised about the reliability of the Play network for 2G signals, especially outside urban areas. It is noted that telemetry cards may not be available for private individuals, and users are advised to check the 2G coverage map for their operator to ensure proper functionality.
