You can heat the remaining water, then turn off the heat and press the button on the handle to release the steam until the pressure goes down. During this time, the tank cap is unlocked and can be rotated but not twisted. As soon as the steam cleaner has cooled down a little, it will not be possible to rotate the tank cap again.
