    Hello

In my 2006 Meriva A, I have not had brake lights in the poles for some time, the fuse is notoriously blown, which I replace every now and then, I do not have an additional brake light at all.

For a change, today, when braking, the rear wiper turned on and the tailgate opened (which now cannot be opened at all), in addition, the stop lamp fuse was blown but not broken,

Can anyone advise me what to do?

Check the connection of the tailgate with the body and especially the cables that are in this rubber accordion, there are cables that like to break (insulation breaks) from closing and opening the tailgate.

I confirm - check the grommet. Wiring breaks, short circuits occur. Known topic.
Just don't solder the wires at the cracks.

I checked and in fact all the cables in the grommet are cracked and frayed, unfortunately today before I started to break for it, the stop light fuse melted, probably burning the gas pedal beam and now it does not respond to pressing, unfortunately the car is immobilized :-)

Why not solder the cracks? How else to fix it?

You'll need to fix the harness by inserting wire sections and off-site soldering in the grommet. So you insert the wires longer than the grommet itself. Soldering stiffens the wires - if you solder in the place of the break, it will break again quickly.
