    Hello all,
As a fan of Windows XP, Vista, 7, 8.1 I am asking for help. I was forced to upgrade Windows 8.1 to 10. At the beginning they were cool but continuous updates caused that old Autocad 2012 programs stopped working. I had to switch to newer versions which was due to the costs and the use of free counterparts and learning them again. Does anyone know any way to completely block automatic updates in Windows 10 Home so that you never have to worry about whether the next day the program will work?
    best regards

Try to set your Internet connection as tariff in the options. Or look on Google because there are several options to disable.

Thanks for the answers. I will recognize the topic according to your advice.
PS. On older systems, I turned off Windows Update services and it was ok. I once wrote a small script that killed the update service also managed. This system is resistant to my interference :(

Windows 10 Home does not have the option of "manually checking for updates" like its "higher Professional variations, etc." but a colleague can block system updates completely, and it does so:
    Step one: find "services"
Step two: in "services" find "windows update" and click PPM
Step three: in the expanded submenu select "stop" and click LPM
And that's basically everything. There will be a message about the inability to use extensions, automatic updates etc. All in all, if a colleague of Windows 10 is more disturbing than helping in the use of various freeware applications installed on your computer this question. Isn't it better to consider BACKING to the Windows 8.1 operating system? Well then the author of the topic of your choice. I also have automatic bones because I have to remember about them, especially around 15th of each month ..... so that viewers invited to the presentation do not look for an hour at "rotating white beads on a blue background" :-)

Topic summary

The discussion revolves around the challenge of blocking automatic updates in Windows 10 Home to maintain compatibility with AutoCAD 2012. Users suggest various methods, including setting the internet connection as a metered connection and stopping the Windows Update service through the Services menu. However, the original poster expresses frustration as these methods have not been effective, leading to concerns about the impact of updates on older software. Some participants recommend considering a rollback to Windows 8.1 for better control over updates.
