Newer Skype does not support advanced versions like Windows XP SP3 Write what Skype version you have. Find out on the Skype page which systems the version supports.

The version of my skype is 8.28.0.41 and I have Windows 7 Home Premium. I will also add that when I enter msconfig in the start tab, there is no Skype.
