Hello, I need to convert my sd card for navigation alone. Toyota Avensis T27 and looking for a sd card with variable CID I read on foreign forums that Samsung Eco plus cards have such a possibility, i.e. they have been blocked for some time now. Users write that cards up to 2017 had such an option and must be made of other Korea. Maybe someone will tell you how it is because there are many myths in this topic. If the cards of other companies, if so, what are their changing codes?

    Hi

Some time ago I was discussing this topic. True to VW but I was also looking for a card with an unlocked CID. Currently samsung cards are already blocked. Unlocked Samsung offers of course appear at online auctions (unfortunately I had to use such auctions). I had several new samsung cards made in different countries and none were unlocked. Apparently, there are no-name cards but small capacity, probably up to 4GB.

tom20202 as I wrote, I checked on new cards (a dozen or so) I have a lot of access to new cards. Unfortunately, none of the Samsung did not work.

So will be the end of Eldorado .... Thanks Pawlik for the answer. And you might have checked other companies' cards that are made on Japan

I checked several Kingston pieces but none of that. From what you can read on foreign forums is that apparently on aliexpress cards it works (they are unlocked). But I didn't check it.

Topic summary

The discussion revolves around the challenges of converting an SD card for navigation use in a Toyota Avensis T27. Users are seeking SD cards with variable CID, particularly Samsung Eco Plus cards, which were reported to have this capability in models produced before 2017. However, it appears that newer Samsung cards are now blocked, and attempts to find unlocked versions have been unsuccessful. Some users suggest that no-name cards with smaller capacities (up to 4GB) might still be viable. Additionally, there are mentions of Kingston cards not working and potential success with cards from AliExpress, although this remains unverified.
