    Hello!
I have a Skoda Octavia III 2015 with Amundsen navigation. Unfortunately, I do not have the original Skoda SD card for it. I wanted to update the navigation from a regular SD card that this navi reads without a problem. Unfortunately, despite many attempts and many ways of formatting, recording, etc., the error still appears: "Insert media with current data" and after a while "No file to read".
After many attempts to solve the problem, I came across information that on an unoriginal card I cannot update the navigation, because it must be adapted to the car (CID coding).
Does the card really have any secured data sector that informs the car / radio about the originality and can you somehow adopt another card for this radio so that you can do a navigation update, which is ridiculous on the Skoda website is completely free.
Thank you in advance for any answers and suggestions.

    I'll step under the topic.
In turn, I have the original SKODA card.
However, I cannot access its contents on my computer.
When trying to update the map, when choosing the card to unpack the downloaded content, the card access error crashes.
Generally, the system detects my card as a USB drive.

    Can I help it somehow?

I am observant enough and I unlocked the card before I started doing anything with it ;)
I checked the card in another reader (laptop) and everything is ok.
    So what's the problem?

Topic summary

The discussion revolves around the challenges faced by a Skoda Octavia III (2015) owner in updating the Amundsen navigation system due to the absence of the original SD card. The user attempts to use a non-original SD card but encounters errors indicating that the media is not recognized. Responses highlight that the CID (Card Identification) coding is crucial for compatibility, as each SD card has a unique CID that may prevent updates if not original. Some users suggest that it is possible to change the CID on certain cards, while others discuss issues related to accessing original cards on computers and the need for unlocking mechanisms. The conversation emphasizes the necessity of using an original SD card for successful navigation updates.
