I was looking for something about cheap brakes on the forum for a long time, but I found nothing
Renault Scenic MK3 discs and pads front and rear (rear discs with bearings) by DACO
The set works well after a year of use, no problems with assembly, etc.
A set 3x cheaper than the leading manufacturers.
The brakes are surprisingly better than those that were before. In my car I have Mtech drilled and notched discs and EBC YellowStuff pads + braided wires these brakes are a catapult but compared to any other
Coming back to the DACO, I am very surprised by the good quality of these brakes and the braking itself, Scenic mainly drives around the city.
As for other cheap brakes, some time ago I installed the cheapest set of brakes that was only on eBay for Kia Cee'D 09, the whole set cost me about 40GBP and I must admit that I was surprised again because it is already a few thousand and about 7 months on the car. it's okay, zero beating of braking force drop the only negative is that they are very dusty etc
Kia mainly drives around the city, so I do not see any point in installing very expensive brakes if we mainly drive around the city
In addition, recently I install quite a lot of suspension parts from No Name I for the money, i.e. 2pc springs for 25GBP (Renault Clio MK3), or 2pc front control arms (Renault Scenic MK3) 46GBP currently 2 years on the car and no problems, maybe also for the fact that I live in the UK and the condition of the roads is much better, the quality of these cheapest replacements is very good
And I am writing this because many people have a dilemma to buy expensive or cheap, maybe in this post they will find and answer

Maybe in the brakes such a company is made, it is possible that the only problem may be their deformation after hitting puddles when they are very hot, or faster wear of the blocks and the discs themselves compared to more expensive branded sets.

But personally, I installed DACO rear shock absorbers in the MB W203 (PLN 100 per piece), but after a few months I had to throw them out and buy the originals (bilstein PLN 200), why? Because on DACO the car jumped like a pinpong ball, every unevenness was transferred to the doghouse.

There is no chance that they were damaged, my clamp blocked when I went home, the shield caught fire and unfortunately I poured water and nothing happened straight as a string, these shields are super better as long or mikoda

Recently I did the front suspension on Octavia 1 Lesjofors springs and TRW shock absorbers, the front lifted up nicely, but now it would be useful to make the rear part because there was a big difference. I bought parts in better financial times, due to the lack of time to repair, they lingered a bit. With money, it is now fragile and I am thinking about DACO springs, I found a version of reinforced HD springs for less than a hundred - that's half the price than Lesjofors. I wonder whether to take DACO or wait until fall and buy the same set for the back as I have in the front. Maybe someone put on DACO springs and comment on how they work?

DACO I have discs in the back and it's OK, in the second Astra G car also DACO discs and pads for 2 years now and there are no problems. Maybe in Astra there is only such a feeling as if these pads were very hard, you have to press the brake pedal hard - but maybe that's the charm of this car.

The shields are of decent quality for a cheap replacement. Only once it happened to me that the ventilated one was badly turned and the thickness of one side differed significantly from the other. I had a streak myself, so for the experiment I put on and with my leg (Light is not) I managed 25,000 without hitting. And that's really a lot, I was able to drive 30,000 Zimermans each. As for lementandete. Without comment, I replaced the connectors twice under the warranty in e90 and, assuming the 3 route, I hit them for 15 thousand. The right arm of the SLR control arm, and the left of the tandem. What has fallen? Lemtandeta, a cheap alegro replacement, has a longer service life.

Can you write what your impressions of using DACO dials after another year? I am thinking of putting forward to the E39 (90% city driving). I have some hardened DACO springs for the rear and they work very well after 15k km. The shock absorbers were also DACO, but after 10k km I replaced them with MTS. In fact, as someone wrote, the car bounced like a ping-pong ball.

I have driven a 20,000 km Audi A4. Daco pads, discs brake very well, no dust, and the pads and discs themselves look like new after the mileage of 20,000. The price is also very great. I recommend.

Also done 20000 km since fitting and I confirm, the DACOs perform very well, front and rear. The "meat" of the front pads is still left for the second mileage. No run-out, no squealing, discs evenly stripped across the surface, effective braking to zero from high speeds. I'm impressed with the value for money. For a moderate daily driving style, they do the job just fine.

Daco front shock absorbers fitted to Citroen C8 in March 2022 and have performed faultlessly to date. My brother fitted Daco discs and pads to a Citroen C5. Zero problems. Daco is just a packager. I used to work at Tenneco in the production of Monroe shock absorbers. The same product was going as Monroe and cheap replacements for packers. Nowadays there is no such thing as a brand. There is a need is one manufacturer e.g. Monroe patches shock absorbers for KYB. It does not matter whether you buy Monroe, KYB, Sachs, Bilstein, Daco or MaxGear, because you may end up with the same product only in a different box with the packer's number stamped on it.

Topic summary

DACO brake discs and pads, including sets for Renault Scenic MK3 and Astra G, are reported to offer good quality and effective braking performance at significantly lower prices compared to leading manufacturers. Users note satisfactory durability with city driving, minimal brake dust, and even wear after 20,000 km. Some concerns include potential deformation of discs after exposure to hot puddles and harder brake pads requiring firmer pedal pressure. DACO rear shock absorbers and springs have mixed reviews: springs, including reinforced HD versions, perform well and are cost-effective alternatives to brands like Lesjofors, while shock absorbers often exhibit poor ride quality, causing excessive bouncing, leading some to replace them with original or other branded parts such as Bilstein or MTS. The discussion highlights that DACO products may be repackaged from common manufacturers, similar to other brands like Monroe, KYB, Sachs, and MaxGear, suggesting comparable underlying quality despite branding differences.
